足緒 Phillips has abandoned her 企て,努力,提案 to be 労働 leader, 認めるing that she would not be able to 部隊 the party.

The outspoken backbencher said the party needed a 人物/姿/数字 who could bring the party together and help 逆転する the “cataclysmic” 選挙 敗北・負かす.

She said: “I truly believe that unless we talk to the country on their 条件, not just on ours, that we won’t be able to make the 伸び(る)s we need to 勝利,勝つ an 選挙 ? and do what everyone in the 労働 movement wants to do, and that is make people’s lives better.

“ーするために do that, the 労働 Party will need to select a 候補者 that can 部隊 all parts of our movement ? the union movement, the members and elected 代表者/国会議員s ? I have to be honest that at this time, that person isn’t me.

“ーするために 勝利,勝つ the country, we are going to have to find a 候補者 in this race who can do that and take that message out to the country of hope and change for things to be better.”

影をつくる/尾行する Brexit 長官 Sir Keir Starmer is the frontrunner in the 労働 contest, having already 安全な・保証するd his place on the final 投票(する) paper as a result of 指名/任命s from the unions Unison and Usdaw and the 社会主義者 環境 and 資源s 協会 (Sera), an (v)提携させる(n)支部,加入者 group.

Sir Keir, 影をつくる/尾行する 商売/仕事 長官 Rebecca Long-Bailey, 影をつくる/尾行する foreign 長官 Emily Thornberry and former 影をつくる/尾行する 閣僚 大臣 Lisa Nandy were all at the GMB union hustings in London, while 憶測 about Ms Phillips’s 未来 was fuelled by her absence from the event.

候補者s need the 指名/任命s of three 労働 (v)提携させる(n)支部,加入者s, 含むing at least two unions, which 量 to at least 5% of (v)提携させる(n)支部,加入者 members.

The only other 大勝する on to the 投票(する) paper is by receiving 指名/任命s from at least 33 選挙区/有権者 労働 parties (CLPs).

Ms Thornberry said she was “very sorry” that Ms Phillips had pulled out of the contest, arguing that favourites Sir Keir and Ms Long-Bailey needed to 直面する a challenge.

She said: “We need to broaden our 審議, not 狭くする it, and 軍隊 the two favourites to 証明する they’re up to the fight by pitting them against some real strength.

“足緒 is a sad loss in that 成果/努力, but we will keep going.”

Ms Nandy also said she was sorry that Ms Phillips had dropped out, 追加するing: “She has made waves, shown 広大な/多数の/重要な friendship and I’ll 行方不明になる her in this contest.”
