Call for international 返答 to 妨げる Afghanistan 人道的な 災害

Boris Johnson is 始める,決める to tell MPs that there must be an 即座の 増加する in 援助(する) to Afghanistan to 回避する a 人道的な 危機 爆発するing in the country に引き続いて the Taliban’s seizure of 力/強力にする.

MPs will return to 議会 from their summer break for an 緊急 sitting on Wednesday, three days after Afghanistan’s 資本/首都 Kabul fell to the 交戦的なs on Sunday.

On Tuesday night, Mr Johnson 発表するd a new 解決/入植地 計画/陰謀, which would 許す up to 20,000 Afghan 攻撃を受けやすい 難民s to 捜し出す 聖域 in the UK over the coming years.

And the PM is 推定する/予想するd to tell MPs of the steps the international community needs to take to 避ける a 人道的な 大災害 in Afghanistan, 含むing the 即座の 増加する in 人道的な 援助(する) to the country and the surrounding 地域 同様に as a longer-称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 事業/計画(する) to support 難民s.

But the 解決/入植地 計画/陰謀 was criticised as 落ちるing short of what was needed, and the PM can 推定する/予想する to come under 解雇する/砲火/射撃 from former 武装した Services 職員/兵員 on his own backbenches as he updates MPs on the work done to mitigate the 危機 so far.

抗議するs are also planned outside of 議会 calling for support for Afghans and their families who have worked with the 同盟(する)s.

Speaking to US 大統領 Joe Biden on Tuesday night, Mr Johnson 強調する/ストレスd the importance of work in the 地域 and not to lose the 伸び(る)s of the last 20 years.

A No 10 spokesperson said: “The 総理大臣 and 大統領 Biden agreed on the need for the 全世界の community to come together to 妨げる a 人道的な 危機 in Afghanistan.”

While Home 長官 Priti Patel, 令状ing in the Daily Telegraph, said although the UK had committed to taking in 5,000 難民s who were at 危険 of 迫害 by the Taliban in the first year of the new 解決/入植地 計画/陰謀 ? and up to 20,000 全体にわたる ? the country could not take all the 緊張する alone.

She said: “The UK is also doing all it can to encourage other countries to help. Not only do we want to lead by example, we cannot do this alone.”

The newspaper 報告(する)/憶測d that the 総理大臣 had spoken to the French and German 政府s, and Ms Patel led 会談 with the Five 注目する,もくろむs 知能 同盟 ? 構成するing Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the 部隊d Kingdom and the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs ? to identify 安全な and 合法的な 大勝するs for those who need to leave Afghanistan.

But 野党s said this was not enough and criticised the 範囲 of the Afghan 国民s’ Resettlement 計画/陰謀, which will give 優先 to women and girls, and 宗教的な and other 少数,小数派s.

Human 権利s groups also 攻撃する,衝突する out at 政府 計画(する)s over 移民/移住 more 広範囲にわたって.

Nick Thomas-Symonds, 労働’s 影をつくる/尾行する home 長官, welcomed that a 計画/陰謀 was now in place but said there needed to be a “more 緊急の 計画(する) of 活動/戦闘”.

He said: “This 提案 does not 会合,会う the 規模 of the challenge. Not only does that 危険 leaving people in Afghanistan in deadly danger, it will also 土台を崩す the leadership 役割 Britain must play in 説得するing international partners to live up to their 責任/義務s.”

自由主義の 民主党員s leader Sir Ed Davey said the party would be calling on the 政府 to 増加する its uptake of 難民s to 20,000 “over the next year”, telling BBC Breakfast: “We know it’s hundreds of thousands of people whose lives are at 危険. Britain needs to play a part, with other countries, and we need to play a part 緊急に.”

Layla Moran, 自由主義の 民主党員 spokesperson for 外務, said: “We need these 攻撃を受けやすい people out of the country as soon as possible, instead of the 政府’s vague 約束 of the ‘long-称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語’. The 政府 have kicked this into the long grass when Afghans need help now, today. 20,000 should be the starting point o f this 計画/陰謀, not the 的.”

And Ian Blackford, the SNP’s leader in Westminster, said the 的 should be to welcome at least 35,000 to 40,000 Afghan 難民s.

Former defence 大臣 Tobias Ellwood, the Tory MP for Bournemouth East, was also 声の in his 批評 of the 計画/陰謀, calling it “woefully 不十分な”.

He told the Daily Mirror: “The 政府 really needs to see the bigger picture here and しっかり掴む the 規模 of the 危機 we created. We are capping the numbers to 5,000 for the first year, when the 脅し is at its greatest.”

The 政府 said the new 計画/陰謀 was in 新規加入 to the 5,000 Afghans already 推定する/予想するd to move to the UK under the Afghan 移転s and 援助 政策 (ARAP), which is designed to 申し込む/申し出 地元の 同盟(する)s such as interpreters 優先 移転 to the UK.

政府 人物/姿/数字s showed 2,000 have already arrived under the ARAP programme.

Since Saturday, 公式の/役人s said 520 British 国家のs, 外交官s and former Afghan staff have left Afghanistan on UK 軍の flights.

A flight carrying 避難させるd British 国家のs and Afghans landed at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire at about 11pm on Tuesday night.

It comes after the 省 of Defence said the first flight of British 国家のs and 大使館 staff arrived at the base on Sunday night.
