Boston, Oakland 始める，決める for 味方する duel in 影をつくる／尾行する of NBA 決勝戦
The East Bay's 出資／貢献 to this week's Boston vs. the San Francisco Bay Area duel takes place 17 miles from the NBA 決勝戦 when the Boston Red Sox and host Oakland 運動競技のs open a three-game series Friday night.
The Red Sox flew into Oakland on the same day as Game 1 of the NBA 選手権 series Thursday and are scheduled to 飛行機で行く out at about the same time as the Boston Celtics and Golden 明言する／公表する 軍人s 会合，会う in a rematch on Sunday night in their best-of-seven 衝突／不一致.
Before they move on to Los Angeles and Seattle to 完全にする a 10-game West Coast swing, the Red Sox hope to take advantage of a loyal Bay Area fan に引き続いて and a 低迷ing A's team that has lost six of seven.
Boston's Nathan Eovaldi (2-2, 3.77 ERA) and Oakland's James Kaprielian (0-2, 5.93) are the scheduled starters Friday as the Red Sox and A's 会合，会う for the first time since contesting three 連続した nail-biters -- two of which went to 延長戦s -- in Oakland last July.
Eovaldi is coming off a 完全にする-game 勝利，勝つ over the Baltimore Orioles, one in which the 権利-hander got through the nine innings with just 108 pitches. He 許すd seven 攻撃する，衝突するs and two earned runs in a 5-3 勝利，勝つ.
The 完全にする game was the first of his career in 211 starts and was just the eighth in the majors this season.
"It definitely means a lot to me, 特に with the way the game's 傾向ing now and the 傷害s I've had in the past," Eovaldi said. "I know they have the best 利益／興味s for me to 保護する me, but it means a lot to go out there and (pitch a 完全にする game). Every starter wants to go out there and finish the start."
Eovaldi will be making his fifth career start in Oakland, where he's gone 1-1 with a 3.74 ERA. 全体にわたる, he's 1-2 with a 3.91 ERA in eight career starts against the A's.
Like many 投手s this season, Eovaldi has 限られた／立憲的な experience against 現在の members of the A's. One 乱打する he has never 直面するd is catcher/first baseman Christian Bethanco urt, who belted his first major league ホームラン since 2016 in Wednesday's home loss to the Houston Astros.

"It's about time," 投手 Cole Irvin joked. "Watching him take BP is a lot of fun. He's got a lot of 力／強力にする, so it's about time he got that first one. Hopefully that rolls into a few more and gets him going."
While not having pitched 井戸／弁護士席 enough to earn any of the 決定／判定勝ち（する）s, Kaprielian has been a bit of a good-luck charm for the A's. They've won his last four starts, even though the 28-year-old has 許すd 13 runs and 20 攻撃する，衝突するs over 19 2/3 innings in those games.
The 権利-hander has pitched 井戸／弁護士席 in two career starts against the Red Sox, going 1-1 with a 1.50 ERA. He's struck out 16 in 12 innings, 許すing just two runs.
He had 10 of those strikeouts when the clubs last met on July 4. The Red Sox won that game 1-0.
