Now able to sell abortion pill, U.S. pharmacies 重さを計る if they should

Jan 6 (Reuters) - Pharmacies across the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs are 重さを計るing whether to sell mifepristone, a pill used in 医薬 abortions, に引き続いて the Food and 麻薬 行政's 告示 earlier this week that they can now do so.

The FDA 支配する will make 医薬 abortion, which accounts for more than half of U.S. abortions, more accessible in 明言する／公表するs where abortion remains 合法的な, but its 衝撃 on pharmacies in the 明言する／公表するs that have banned abortion remains to be seen.

He said he would only do it if asked by the health department. "I just …に反対する it to be honest with you," he said. "I'm against abortion."

A spokesperson for GenBioPro, one of two companies that make mifepristone in the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs, said the drugmaker has already started to receive 使用／適用s for certification but did not 供給する その上の 詳細（に述べる）s.
Michelle Vargas, owner of 独立した・無所属 Lamar Family Pharmacy in Lamar, South Carolina, said she is not considering dispensing it.
"We're in a very small 田舎の area. We're not 近づく an abortion clinic or in a larger city where that happens more," she said. "That's just not something we see here."

With the 合法的な 問題／発行する unsettled, pharmacies in 明言する／公表するs 制限するing abortion are likely to 直面する 合法的な 危険s and could lose their licenses if they decide to sell mifepristone in 違反 of 明言する／公表する 法律s, said American Pharmacist 協会 暫定的な CEO Ilisa Bernstein, who worked at the FDA for 30 years.
Other factors, such as safety for pharmacies and pharmacists, are also at play, said Bernstein.
Steve Moore, pharmacist and owner of Condo Pharmacy in Plattsburgh, New York, a 明言する／公表する where abortion is 合法的な, 計画（する）s to dispense the 麻薬.
"As far as my 役割 as a pharmacist, I feel it's to help people 安全に and 効果的に use the 医薬s," said Moore. "I'm not in the 役割 of 限界ing 接近 to 医薬."
"We've had 患者s give us a hard time for dispensing the morning after pill or birth 支配（する）／統制する. That's certainly your prerogative. But if that's a 関心, then we're not the pharmacy for you, because we're certainly not going to stop doing that," he said.
