NEW DELHI/LONDON, Feb 14 (Reuters) - Indian 税金 officers searched the BBC's bureaus in New Delhi and Mumbai on Tuesday, the British 放送者 said, weeks after the 政府 banned as 宣伝 a BBC 文書の 批判的な of 総理大臣 Narendra Modi's 役割 in 暴動s in 2002.
The 文書の 焦点（を合わせる）d on the Hindu 国家主義者 政治家，政治屋's leadership as 長，指導者 大臣 of the western 明言する／公表する of Gujarat during the 暴動s in which at least 1,000 people were killed, most of them イスラム教徒s, though 行動主義者s put the （死傷者）数 at more than twice that number.
The 税金 officers were still at the bureau late on Tuesday. The BBC said some staff had been asked to remain at the bureau, while many had left.
"Our 生産（高） and journalism continue as normal and we are committed to serving our audiences in India," it said.
The 政府 last month 解任するd the 文書の, "India: The Modi Question", as 宣伝 and 封鎖するd its streaming and 株ing on social マスコミ. The foreign 省 said last month the 文書の was meant to 押し進める a "discredited narrative", was biased, 欠如（する）d objectivity and showed a "continuing 植民地の mindset".
The BBC has stood by its 報告（する）／憶測ing for the 文書の and said it was 協力するing with Indian 税金 公式の／役人s.
"T he Income 税金 当局 are 現在／一般に at the BBC offices in New Delhi and Mumbai and we are fully 協力するing. We hope to have this 状況／情勢 解決するd as soon as possible," the BBC said on Twitter earlier in the day.
An Income 税金 Department 公式の／役人, speaking on 条件 of anonymity, said that a "信頼できる 調査する 操作／手術 was 現在進行中の" and that the department would not be able to 株 詳細（に述べる）s. The department did not 答える／応じる to a Reuters email 捜し出すing comment.

One of two sources in the BBC's New Delhi office told Reuters earlier in the day that 税金 公式の／役人s were speaking with the accounts officer and no one was 許すd to leave.

Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said Indian 会・原則s worked 独立して and the 税金 department was "within the 法律 in looking into 税金 同意／服従".
"India is a vibrant 僕主主義 where no one is above the 法律," BJP 広報担当者 Gopal Krishna Agarwal said.
