共和国の/共和党のs 冷静な/正味の on Trump 2024 企て,努力,提案, 民主党員s even cooler on Biden, Reuters/Ipsos 投票 shows

By Joseph Ax and Jason Lange

Feb 14 (Reuters) - Democratic U.S. 投票者s 表明する いっそう少なく support for 大統領 Joe Biden running for a second 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 2024 than 共和国の/共和党のs do for former 大統領 Donald Trump's 最新の White House 企て,努力,提案, a Reuters/Ipsos 投票 shows, a 潜在的に worrisome 調印する for Biden as he 準備するs to 発表する his re-選挙運動.

Fifty-two パーセント of 登録(する)d 民主党員s said Biden should not 捜し出す a second 称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語, compared to 40% of 共和国の/共和党のs who said Trump should not run again, によれば the 国家の 投票, which gathered 返答s from 4,408 adults from Feb. 6-13.

Taken together, the results signal that many Americans are far from enthused about a rematch of the 意見の不一致を生じる November 2020 contest won by Biden. Trump made 誤った (人命などを)奪う,主張するs that the 選挙 was stolen from him through 普及した 投票(する)ing 詐欺, and his 支持者s attacked the U.S. (ワシントンの)連邦議会議事堂 on Jan. 6, 2021, 捜し出すing to stop 議会 from certifying Biden's 選挙 victory.

Spokespeople for Biden and Trump did not すぐに 答える/応じる to requests for comment.

"I think it shows Biden's support level is pretty soft," said Kyle Kondik, an 選挙s 分析家 at the University of Virginia's 中心 for Politics. "But you need a real 候補者 to turn that generic feeling into a 明確な/細部 problem for Biden, and nobody seems to be stepping up to the plate to 押し進める Biden."

Biden, who has yet to 発表する his 立候補, is 推定する/予想するd to stand 反対者のない in Democratic 大統領の 最初の/主要なs after he was credited with helping the party do better than 推定する/予想するd in the November midterm congressional 選挙s. 民主党員s lost 支配(する)/統制する of the 衆議院 but 保持するd a 上院 大多数.

Democratic strategists 表明するd 信用/信任 that the par ty's 投票者s would enthusiastically support Biden once he 発表するs his run.

Jennifer Holdsworth, who worked on 現在の Transportation 長官 Pete Buttigieg's 2020 大統領の (選挙などの)運動をする, said the 調査する results 反映する what she called a マスコミ-driven but 不確かの narrative that Biden, 80, is too old to serve in the White House.

"I think it's 完全に overblown," Holdsworth said. "Most 階級-and-とじ込み/提出する 民主党員s that I talk to are thrilled with the 記録,記録的な/記録する this 行政 has 遂行するd."

Biden has shrugged off 投票ing showing 投票者 関心s about his age, asking one interviewer last week, "Look, do you know any 投票ing that's 正確な these days?"

Biden and Trump each led their party's field of 可能性のある 候補者s in the 投票, but neither drew support from a 大多数 of their 投票者s. Biden was the 選ぶ for 35% of 民主党員s and Trump for 43% of 共和国の/共和党のs.

Florida 知事 Ron DeSantis, who has built a 国家の profile with a relentless 焦点(を合わせる) on 問題/発行するs such as race and gender 身元, was a (疑いを)晴らす No. 2 with 31% of 登録(する)d 共和国の/共和党のs 支援 him, just 12 百分率 points behind Trump.

A host of other possible 共和国の/共和党の 競争相手s, 含むing former 副大統領 マイク Pence and former South Carolina 知事 Nikki Haley, received 選び出す/独身-digit support. Besides Trump, Haley, who 開始する,打ち上げるd her 2024 (選挙などの)運動をする on Tuesday, is the only major 共和国の/共和党の 候補者 to 発表する a 企て,努力,提案.

On the Democratic 味方する, 上院議員 Bernie やすりを削る人/削る機械s drew 13% support, 副大統領 Kamala Harris 12% and Buttigieg 10%.

The 投票 numbers are a good 調印する for DeSantis given that he has never 機動力のある a 国家の (選挙などの)運動をする, 共和国の/共和党の strategist Chuck Coughlin said.

"If I'm Ron DeSantis, I'm pretty encouraged that I'm within striking positio n and have that 肉親,親類d of 指名する ID," Coughlin said.

TRUMP'S 'MOMENTUM PROBLEM'

Trump has plenty of vulnerabilities. He 直面するs a slew of civil and 犯罪の 調査s and saw many of his 手渡す-選ぶd 候補者s lose 競争の激しい races in the midterm 選挙s.

"Trump's got a 勢い problem," Coughlin said. "After the '22 cycle, I think it's 夜明けing on more and more 共和国の/共和党のs that his time has come and gone."

That said, Trump 勝つ/広く一帯に広がるd in a (人が)群がるd 最初の/主要な field in 2016 by winning a plurality, rather than a 大多数, of 共和国の/共和党の 投票(する)s in 早期に 明言する/公表するs, a dynamic that could repeat itself in 2024 if more 候補者s enter the race.

Either Trump or DeSantis would 提起する/ポーズをとる a 脅し to Biden's re-選挙 chances, the Reuters/Ipsos 投票 showed. In a hypothetical one-on-one contest, Trump earned 42% の中で 登録(する)d 投票者s, compared with 39% for Biden, a 統計に基づく tie because it was within the 投票's 信用性 interval of four points in either direction for the question on 長,率いる-to-長,率いる match ups.

DeSantis also was neck-and-neck with Biden in a hypothetical two-person contest, 41% to 38%.

にもかかわらず low 失業 and rising 消費者 感情, the U.S. economy remains a drag on Biden's 人気. Only 36% of 登録(する)d 投票者s in the new Reuters/Ipsos 投票 said they 認可する of Biden's 扱うing of the economy, 負かす/撃墜する from 42% a year earlier.

"There seems to be a disconnect between how the economy is 成し遂げるing and how people are feeling around the kitchen (米)棚上げする/(英)提議する," said Holdsworth, the Democratic strategist.

Biden is also 重さを計るd 負かす/撃墜する by perceptions that he is too old to run. He is already the oldest 大統領,/社長 to serve, and 51% of 民主党員s in the 投票 said he cannot 扱う the physical (死傷者)数 of the 大統領/総裁などの地位.

By comparison, only a 4半期/4分の1 of 登録(する)d 共和国の/共和党のs said Trump, 76, who was 入院させるd with COVID-19 during his 大統領/総裁などの地位, was not fit for the physical 需要・要求するs of the office.
