In '奇蹟' escape from 地震, Syrian woman 救助(する)s children and 捕らえる、獲得する of memories

JABLEH, Syria, Feb 14 (Reuters) - When she felt the first (軽い)地震s of the 地震 which 攻撃する,衝突する Syria and Turkey last week, Um Kanan woke her three children and 急ぐd them to a small closet in her bedroom for 避難所, along with a collection of family photos and 文書s.

The 軍隊 of the 地震 brought their fourth 床に打ち倒す apartment in Syria's Mediterranean town of Jableh 衝突,墜落ing to the ground, 殺人,大当り almost all of their 隣人s but leaving 無傷の the four of them and their precious duffle 捕らえる、獲得する of memories.

Um Kanan and her youngest child were tucked inside a space in the closet no more than a metre wide, while her two 年上の children 密談する/(身体を)寄せ集めるd in a nook between the closet and her bed, using pillows to 保護物,者 themselves when the building 崩壊するd.

"I kept thinking to myself: 'Can it be? Did the building just 落ちる 負かす/撃墜する? Is this a dream?' I tried to move but I couldn't," she said. "The children and I, by some 奇蹟, we ended up in this small space that I had left empty."

Her husband, a 軍の officer, also 生き残るd. He was not at home when the 7.8 magnitude 地震 struck, 殺人,大当り more than 5,000 people in Syria and 35,000 to the north in Turkey.

But the mother and children were still 罠にかける in the 廃虚s. They called out for help from 救助者s, who (疑いを)晴らすd the 難破 above them.

"They 除去するd the roof from over the closet and thankfully pulled the two kids out okay, and me and my youngest 同様に, and I pulled out the 捕らえる、獲得する I had packed with me."

Their home was a mess of broken 固める/コンクリート, and their furniture and 所持品 were 鎮圧するd underneath. So they made their way to a 親族's house with their one remaining 所有/入手.

Feeling uneasy in the hours 主要な up to the 地震, Um Kanan said she had 用意が出来ている the 捕らえる、獲得する the day before, filling it with family 証明書s, IDs and her marriage 証明書, 同様に as photo albums and ビデオs.

"We had been living in that house for some eight years and I had never thought about 蓄える/店ing things this way before," she said, fighting 支援する 涙/ほころびs as she thumbed through an album of pictures and pulled out a ビデオ of her wedding.

解任するing the moment she walked from the 難破 with her 捕らえる、獲得する, she said she had felt 勝利を得た.
