AUGUSTA, Georgia, April 7 (Reuters) - Jason Day appears to be taking the next major step in his resurgence at this week's Masters but got a cruel 思い出の品 of how tricky Augusta 国家の can be with a few mistakes 負かす/撃墜する the stretch on Friday that sapped his 勢い.

Day was rolling along at four-under par in his second 一連の会議、交渉/完成する and nine under on the week when a 二塁打-bogey at the par-five 15th, where his third 発射 from a 厳しい downslope 設立する the pond that 前線s the green.

The 35-year-old Australian followed that with bogeys at the 16th and 18th 穴を開けるs, and while he remains in the mix he is 井戸/弁護士席 aware that he could be much closer to clubhouse leader Brooks Koepka going into what is 推定する/予想するd to be a rain-filled 週末.

"Yeah, I'm 現実に very disappointed with how I finished," said Day. "存在 decently の近くに to where Brooks was going into the 週末, you never know how it goes, and 明白に going from 9 (under par) to 5 (under) was a bit of a kick in the gut."

Day was considered a 競争相手 coming into the year's first major a given a return to form that has produced five 最高の,を越す-10 finishes in seven events this year and Friday's even-par 72 brought him to five under on the week, seven 支援する of Koepka.

にもかかわらず the late errors, Day was able to take some 慰安 in the 全体にわたる 明言する/公表する of his game, which has shown 広大な/多数の/重要な strides since he slid 負かす/撃墜する the 最高位のs 予定 to a mix of 支援する 問題/発行するs, swing changes and putting woes.

"It feels good, but today 肉親,親類d of 廃虚s it for me," Day said with a laugh. "I've just got to give myself time.

"I've just got off the ゴルフ course and I'm 完全に annoyed with myself, and I'm sitting here answering questions, and that can be difficult because it's in the heat of the moment, and I'm trying to get a 持つ/拘留する of myself."

The 最高潮の場面 of Day's second 一連の会議、交渉/完成する (機の)カム at the par-four 11th where he 行方不明になるd the green with his approach 発射 but managed to 半導体素子 in for birdie from 22 yards.

Day said seeing his ball 減少(する) did not make him 解任する Larry Mize's miraculous 半導体素子-in on the same 穴を開ける to 敗北・負かす Australian Greg Norman in a プレーオフ in the 1987 Masters.

"No, 現実に to be honest I was trying to just get it up-and-負かす/撃墜する, and fortunately I 攻撃する,衝突する a really nice 半導体素子 発射, and it went in, which was good," said Day.

"That was 肉親,親類d of the nice kick in the 権利 direction going off on the 支援する 味方する that I needed just because I wasn't hitting it as good as yesterday. いつかs you need things like that to go your way." (報告(する)/憶測ing by Frank Pingue in Augusta, Georgia, editing by Pritha Sarkar)
