Co-hosts Australia call out World Cup 支払う/賃金 不平等

MELBOURNE, July 17 (Reuters) - Australia's Matildas have 解放(する)d a ビデオ 声明 calling out gender 不平等 in World Cup prize money and 発言する/表明するing support for women players 否定するd "the basic 権利" of 集団の/共同の 取引ing in 支払う/賃金 交渉s.

The ビデオ, supported by Australia's professional players union, features every member of the co-hosts' Women's World Cup squad and comes まっただ中に 支払う/賃金 論争s at 多重の teams at the tournament starting on Thursday.

The Matildas went on strike in 2015 to 需要・要求する better 支払う/賃金 and have received the same 最小限 百分率 of prize money for tournaments as the Australia 国家の men's team, the Socceroos, since a 2019 集団の/共同の 取引ing 協定.

However, they will compete for a fraction of the $440 million total prize pool 申し込む/申し出d to the men's teams at last year's World Cup in Qatar.
