Gauff says she wasn't mad after calling 'foul' on USTA 風刺漫画

MELBOURNE, Jan 15 (Reuters) - Coco Gauff 否定するd on Monday that she was upset about a 部隊d 明言する/公表するs Tennis 協会 (USTA) social マスコミ 地位,任命する which 描写するd her and some of her fellow U.S. players as characters from a 風刺漫画 but said the image made them look "awful".

The USTA wished its seeded players 井戸/弁護士席 at the Australian Open by having them drawn in the style of the late 1990s Nickelodeon 風刺漫画 "The Wild Thornberrys".

"Worst thing I've ever seen," Gauff said on Sunday in an Instagram 地位,任命する.

"Like a caricature artist decided to make (us) all look like hideous looking people. The art style is 冷静な/正味の for a 風刺漫画 show but not for a hype 地位,任命する. Foul."

The USTA 地位,任命する was later 削除するd.

Speaking after her first 一連の会議、交渉/完成する victory over Anna Karolina Schmiedlova on Monday, however, Gauff said she was not 存在 serious and that her comments were the result of her 存在 bored in her hotel room.

"I was like, no, I wasn't mad. We looked awful," Gauff told reporters.

"I just don't know if I want myself drawn as that art style ... Usually, the USTA always does the seed, the hype 地位,任命するs or whatever before the 激突するs.

"They should have 地位,任命するd this on April Fool's Day. It was a funny thing in the (players') 雑談(する)."

Gauff said she had also messaged the USTA to ask about the thinking behind the picture as a joke.

"They never 答える/応じるd. I got left on 'read' by USTA, which sucks. But, you know, it is what it is," Gauff said.
