KABUL, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Al Qaeda 交戦的なs killed U.S. 新聞記者／雑誌記者 Luke Somers and another 人質 during a 救助（する） 操作／手術 in Yemen, U.S. Defence 長官 Chuck Hagel said on Saturday, 説 the 試みる／企てる to 解放する／自由な the 捕虜s was 正当化するd.

"There were 説得力のある 推論する／理由s to believe Mr. Somers' life was in 切迫した danger," Hagel said in Kabul.

The second 人質 was not a U.S. 国民, Hagel said.
