Syria's Assad shown hugging 軍隊／機動隊s in 戦闘の準備を整えた Damascus 地区

BEIRUT, Jan 1 (Reuters) - Syrian 大統領 Bashar al-Assad visited a 地区 on the 郊外s of Damascus and thanked 兵士s fighting "in the 直面する of テロ行為", his office said on Twitter late on Wednesday, 地位，任命するing pictures of the rare trip.

The 衝突 killed 76,021 people in 2014, just under half of them 非軍事のs, the British-based Syrian 観測所 for Human 権利s said on Thursday.
The 国際連合 says around 200,000 people have been killed since 2011. No group enjoys 重要な 勢い going into 2015, and Assad said last month he 推定する／予想するd the 衝突 to be long and difficult.
Assad, who is 指揮官 in 長，指導者, is not frequently pictured in public, though he has visited 軍隊／機動隊s in the past, によれば 明言する／公表する マスコミ. The 大統領の website said the 最新の visit was to Jobar, northeast of Damascus.
"If there was an area of joy which remained in Syria, it is thanks to the victories that you 達成するd in the 直面する of テロ行為," Assad told 軍隊／機動隊s, によれば the Twitter account.

Syrian 軍隊s have been trying to dislodge 謀反のs from Jobar, which was 逮捕（する）d by anti-Assad 闘士，戦闘機s in 2013. While 政府 軍隊s 支配（する）／統制する central Damascus, they have continued to 直面する 戦う／戦いs on the 郊外s of the 資本／首都.

In an update on Thursday, the 観測所 said 政府 軍隊s had 解雇する／砲火／射撃d machine guns on areas of Jobar 夜通し and that three ロケット／急騰するs landed in the area in the morning. It 追加するd that at least 25 プロの／賛成の-政府 闘士，戦闘機s were killed and dozens 負傷させるd in the previous day's fighting. Syrian 明言する／公表する マスコミ did not について言及する any 死傷者s.
The 衝突, which started with プロの／賛成の-僕主主義 抗議するs in 2011, has descended into a war pitting プロの／賛成の-政府 軍隊s against 非常に／多数の 謀反の groups 含むing Western-支援するd 闘士，戦闘機s, the Nusra 前線 and its ultra-強行路線 offshoot Islamic 明言する／公表する, who have also fought against each other.
