Japanese 列／漕ぐ／騒動 over U.S. island base move 深くするs
TOKYO, March 23 (Reuters) - A 衝突／不一致 between Japan's central 政府 and Okinawa island, host to the 本体，大部分／ばら積みの of U.S. 軍隊／機動隊s in Japan, 深くするd on Monday when the southern island's 知事 ordered a 停止（させる） to underwater work at the 場所／位置 of a planned 移転 of a U.S. 海洋 base.
総理大臣 Shinzo Abe's 政府 and Okinawa have been on a 衝突／不一致 course since anti-base 保守的な Takeshi Onaga was elected 知事 last November and 与党 候補者s were trounced in a December 総選挙.
Onaga told a news 会議／協議会 that he was ordering 地元の defence 省 公式の／役人s to 停止（させる） the underwater 調査する work, which the 県 恐れるs is 害（を与える）ing 地元の 珊瑚 暗礁s, a 県 公式の／役人 said.
If those activities are not stopped within a week, Onaga may 無効にする 是認 for 演習ing 操作／手術s given by his 前任者 in December 2012, he said.
延期するs to the 計画（する） to move the Futenma base to a いっそう少なく populous area of northern Okinawa could be a 頭痛 for Abe ahead of an April 26-May 3 visit to the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs, 発表するd on Monday.
A 首脳会議 with 大統領 Barack Obama is 推定する／予想するd to 最高潮の場面 Washington's 是認 of Abe's more muscular 安全 政策 まっただ中に 関心s about rising Chinese 影響（力） in the 地域.
官房長官 Yoshihide Suga told a news 会議／協議会 the defence 省 was 診察するing the 文書s from the 知事 but that the very fact he had taken this step was "極端に 残念な" since the work had 以前 been 認可するd by the prefec ture. That 是認 was given by Onaga's 前任者, whom he 敗北・負かすd in last year's 選挙.
"At 現在の we do not recognise any 推論する／理由 to 停止（させる） the work," he said.
The 部隊d 明言する／公表するs and Japan agreed in 1996 to の近くに the Futenma 海洋s 空気／公表する base, 位置を示すd in a populous part of the island. Okinawa, which was not returned to Japanese 主権，独立 until 27 years after Tokyo's 敗北・負かす in World War Two, still hosts nearly 75 パーセント of the U.S. 軍の presence in Japan, accounting for 18 パーセント of its land area.
