British 罪,犯罪 writer Ruth Rendell dies 老年の 85

LONDON, May 2 (Reuters) - British 罪,犯罪 writer Ruth Rendell, best known as the creator of 探偵,刑事 長,指導者 視察官 Wexford, died in hospital on Saturday at the age of 85, her publisher said.

Rendell, the author of more than 60 best-selling novels, had 苦しむd a 厳しい 一打/打撃 in January.

"We are 荒廃させるd by the loss of one of our best loved authors, Ruth Rendell. Our thoughts are with her family," Penguin 無作為の House UK said in a 声明.

Rendell's first novel, "From Doon With Death", was published in 1964 and she since wrote several award-winning 調書をとる/予約するs, 含むing "A Demon in My 見解(をとる)" in 1976 and "Live Flesh" 10 years later. Last year, she published "The Girl Next Door".
