Contrary to popular myth, "the pill" 妨げるs womb 癌, 熟考する／考慮する finds

LONDON, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Using an oral contraceptive, often referred to as "the pill", gives long-称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 保護 against womb 癌 and the longer it is used the greater the 削減 in 危険, scientists said on Wednesday.

"The strong 保護の 影響 of oral contraceptives against endometrial 癌 - which 固執するs for １０年間s after stopping the pill - means that women who use it when they are in their 20s or even younger continue to 利益 into their 50s and older, when 癌 becomes more ありふれた," said Valerie Beral, a professor at Britain's Oxford University who co-led the 熟考する／考慮する.
"Previous 研究 has shown that the pill also 保護するs against ovarian 癌. People used to worry that the pill might 原因（となる） 癌, but in the long 称する，呼ぶ／期間／用語 the pill 減ずるs the 危険 of getting 癌."
For their 熟考する／考慮する, published in The Lancet Oncology 定期刊行物, Beral's team pooled data on 27,276 women with endometrial 癌 in 36 熟考する／考慮するs from North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and South Africa -- using 事実上 all the epidemiological 証拠 ever collected on the 影響 of oral contraceptives.
They 設立する that for every 5 years on the pill, the 危険 of endometrial 癌 減ずるs by about a ４半期/4分の1.
In high-income countries, they 設立する, 10 years of oral contraceptive use 減ずるs the 危険 of developing endometrial 癌 before age 75 from 2.3 to 1.3 事例／患者s per 100 使用者s.
Although oestrogen levels in oral contraceptives have 減少（する）d markedly over the years, with pills in the 1960s typically 含む／封じ込めるing more than 二塁打 the oestrogen dose of pills in the 1980s, the 熟考する／考慮する 設立する the 削減 in endometrial 癌 危険 was at least as 広大な／多数の／重要な for women who used the pill during the 1980s as for those who used it in earlier １０年間s.
