Malaysia's 戦闘の準備を整えた PM 直面するing 厳しい 実験(する) as 議会 returns

By Praveen Menon

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Malaysia's 総理大臣 Najib Razak 直面するs the toughest 実験(する) of his political career so far when 議会 再召集するs next week, with the leader 直面するing questions from a growing number of 設立 人物/姿/数字s about his 申し立てられた/疑わしい 役割 in a 汚職,収賄 スキャンダル at the 明言する/公表する 投資 基金.

Najib's tight 支配する on his 部隊d Malays 国家の Organisation (UMNO) party has kept him in 力/強力にする にもかかわらず public 怒り/怒る over 申し立てられた/疑わしい 汚職,収賄 and 財政上の mismanagement at 戦略の 投資 基金 1Malaysia 開発 Bhd (1MDB), whose (a)忠告の/(n)警報 board the 首相 議長,司会を務めるs.

But that 支配する appears to be 緩和するing, and his position could become 不安定な if he loses some 決定的な 近づいている 投票(する)s in 議会.

Some 上級の leaders from UMNO, 含むing former 副 首相 and Najib's 可能性のある 後継者 Muhyiddin Yassin, joined 軍隊s with 影響力のある former 首相 Mahathir Mohamad on Monday to 非難する Najib and call on party members to "speak up" against 悪事を働くこと.

Although they stopped short of 率直に calling for Najib's 辞職, the 反乱 may have opened up an 適切な時期 the 対立 is 捜し出すing to 偉業/利用する through a no-信用/信任 投票(する) in 議会 next week.

"We have decided in 原則 to move a no 信用/信任 動議 in 議会," said Tian Chua, a member of 議会 and 国家の 副大統領 of 野党 PKR.

"We will definitely need to 共同製作する with some leaders from the 判決,裁定 連合. But now there is an 適切な時期 to put aside other 利益/興味s and 焦点(を合わせる) on saving the country and the people."

A no-信用/信任 投票(する) is seen as having a わずかな/ほっそりした chance of 完全な success given the 対立 圏 is about 25 seats short of the 大多数 needed to carry the 動議. Even if it gets the numbers, the (衆議院の)議長 of the house could 拒絶する the 動議, stopping it from 存在 (米)棚上げする/(英)提議するd.

But Najib is also 直面するing 決定的な 投票(する)s on his 年次の 予算 and Malaysia's 会員の地位 of the Trans-太平洋の 共同 貿易(する) 取引,協定 which, political sources say, 直面するs 抵抗 from his own party 同様に as the 対立.

Losing either of those 投票(する)s would 意味ありげに 弱める Najib's position.

"There are many ways of 反対するing....even if the house 拒絶するs Najib's 予算, that would mean a no-信用/信任 against the 総理大臣 and it would 本気で 損失 his stand," said 病弱な Saiful 病弱な Jan, 長,指導者 (n)役員/(a)執行力のある of the think-戦車/タンク 学校/設ける for 僕主主義 and 経済的な 事件/事情/状勢s (IDEAS).

Najib has 答える/応じるd to the Umno members turning against him by 説 his 対抗者s are trying to destabilise Malaysia and 妨げる its 平和的な 開発.

"Do not 許す anyone to be in cahoots with 内部の and 外部の parties to destroy what we have 達成するd so far," he was 引用するd by The Malaysian Insider as 説 during a speech on Wednesday.

LOSING CONFIDENCE

The スキャンダル surrounding Najib 爆発するd in July when it was 報告(する)/憶測d that Malaysian 捜査官/調査官s looking into 1MDB 設立する nearly $700 million was transferred to bank accounts in Najib's 指名する. Reuters has not been able to 立証する the 報告(する)/憶測.

Najib has 否定するd taking any money for personal 伸び(る) while the country's anti-汚職 (売買)手数料,委託(する)/委員会/権限 said the 基金s were a political 寄付.

But Najib has failed to stop questions about the money flows, while several 調査s into 1MDB, which has run up 負債s of の近くに to $11 billion, are still 現在進行中の.

Last week Malaysia's 王室の 支配者s made an 前例のない 声明 説 the 政府's 失敗 to give 納得させるing answers on 1MDB may have resulted in a "危機 of 信用/信任".

The country's central bank has called for 犯罪の 起訴 against 1MDB, though the call was 拒絶するd by the 司法長官. 投資家s are also nervous, with the ringgit 負かす/撃墜する nearly 20 パーセント this year against the dollar.

However, Najib's biggest 脅し comes from within his own party, with Mahathir, Muhyiddin and another 退役軍人 UMNO MP, Tengku Razaleigh, upping the 圧力.

Muhyiddin said on Monday that several grassroot members of UMNO were worried about the country's leadership but were not willing to speak.

"I ask them to be 率直に 表明する their feelings. Do not 恐れる the consequences if you are doing the 権利 thing," he said.

For now, Najib still sits strong with a comfortable 大多数 in 議会 and little 調印する that a flood of Umno MPs will turn on him.

But his growing 名簿(に載せる)/表(にあげる) of 対抗者s say that even if they can not pull off a no 信用/信任 投票(する), they will look for other ways to unsettle the leader.

"I do think there are other ways to go about this," said UMNO party 年上の Tengku Razaleigh, without (a)手の込んだ/(v)詳述するing. (Editing by Lisa Jucca and Rachel Armstrong)
