Australia's unsung hero Fardy happy to 避ける the limelight

LONDON, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Australia's 非常に高い backrower Scott Fardy doesn't 正確に／まさに fit the profile of someone 飛行機で行くing under the レーダ. At 1.98 metres (six feet six インチs) tall and 冒険的な a 厚い 黒人／ボイコット 耐えるd, he is an 課すing and unmistakable presence on and off the pitch.
Fardy has been one of the standout performers in the Wallaby team at the Rugby World Cup, both in defence and attack, but has 大部分は been out of the スポットライト, まず第一に／本来 because of all the attention on Australia's other loose 今後s, David Pocock and Michael Hooper.
And that's just the way he wants it to stay.
"I like 存在 in the 影をつくる／尾行するs and not 存在 as noticed as much as those two, it's やめる enjoyable," he said on Wednesday.
"But 明白に it's a real honour to play と一緒に Pooey (Pocock) and Hoops (Hooper) because they are both really good players."
An old-fashioned blindside flanker who jumps in the lineout and also 運動s in the scrum, Fardy is the 半端物 one in the Australian backrow.
Pocock and Hooper are both openside flankers, although Pocock is playing at number eight, giving the Wallabies an 辛勝する／優位 at the 決裂／故障 and 許すing Fardy to organise the defence.
"I just leave them to do what they do 井戸／弁護士席. (Australia coach Michael Cheika) has told me to do what I do 井戸／弁護士席 so I just do that and get on with it," Fardy sa id.
"It doesn't change anything week to week from what I have to do. I just play and he 作品 out the balance before the game and 選ぶs the team accordingly."
Fardy is also something of a late bloomer, having made his 実験（する） debut in 2013 at 29, an age when a lot of players are on their way out.
His long wait, and some of his experiences off the field, have helped give him a different 視野 both on life and rugby.
Before his call up to the Wallabies, Fardy spent several seasons playing in Japan for the Kamaishi Seawaves, and he was living in the city when it was levelled by a 破滅的な 地震 and 津波 in March 2011.
His apartment was high enough to 避ける the worst of the 破壊 and the Australian 大使館 in Japan 申し込む／申し出d him the chance to 避難させる a few days later.
