Atlanta zoo 指名するs twin 巨大（な） pandas 'Elegant' and 'Joy'
Dec 12 (Reuters) - Thousands of 巨大（な） panda fans from around the world have chosen the 指名するs Ya Lun and Xi Lun for the new 女性（の） twins at the Atlanta zoo, 公式の／役人s said on Monday.
Ya means "elegant," Xi means "happy," and Lun 言及するs to the fluffy 黒人／ボイコット-and-white 耐えるs' mother, Lun Lun. The 指名するs were 発表するd on the 100th day after their Sept. 3 births, in line with Chinese tradition, Zoo Atlanta said in a 声明.
The 指名するs were the winning combination from の中で seven 始める，決めるs 供給（する）d by the zoo's partners in 中国. Ya Lun and Xi Lun earned just over 11,000 of the more than 23,400 投票（する）s cast by panda fans globally from Nov. 21 to Dec. 4.
"As we wish Ya Lun and Xi Lun 井戸／弁護士席 today, we celebrate the 未来 of their 種類 together," Zoo Atlanta 大統領 Officer Raymond King said.
Although the International Union for the 自然保護 of Nature downgraded the 巨大（な） panda's status to "攻撃を受けやすい" from "危うくするd" in September, the 種類 still relies ひどく on 自然保護 programs, the zoo said.
より小数の than 1,900 巨大（な） pandas are 概算の to remain in the wild in 中国's Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu 州s. They are 脅すd by habitat fragmentation and loss as a result of 森林伐採 and other human activities, the zoo said.
Ya Lun and Xi Lun are the second 始める，決める of twins for Lun Lun and male Yang Yang, and the pair's sixth and seventh offspring.
Their older brothers and sisters, male Mei Lan, male Xi Lan, 女性（の） Po and 女性（の） twins Mei Lun and Mei Huan, live at the Chengdu 研究 Base of 巨大（な） Panda 産む／飼育するing in 中国.
