U.S. carries out first strikes against Islamic 明言する／公表する in Somalia
WASHINGTON, Nov 3 (Reuters) - The 部隊d 明言する／公表するs carried out its first 空気／公表する strikes against Islamic 明言する／公表する 交戦的なs in Somalia and killed "several テロリストs," the U.S. 軍の said on Friday.
The 米国防総省's Africa 命令（する） said the first strike was carried out at midnight 地元の time (2100 GMT, Thursday) and another one at 11 a.m. on Nov. 3.
"Several テロリストs" were killed, the 軍の said in a 声明, 追加するing that the strikes were 行為／行うd in 調整 with Somalia's 政府.
"U.S. 軍隊s will continue to use all 権限を与えるd and appropriate 対策 to 保護する Americans and to 無能にする テロリスト 脅しs," the 声明 said.
Islamic 明言する／公表する has been 集会 新採用するs in the 地域, although 専門家s say the 規模 of its 軍隊 is 不明瞭な and it remains a small player compared to the al Shabaab group.
Last month, a group loyal to Islamic 明言する／公表する 掴むd a small port town in Somalia's 半分-自治権のある Puntland 地域, the first town it has taken since 現れるing a year ago.
The group, which 言及するs to itself 簡単に as Islamic 明言する／公表する, is a 競争相手 to the larger al Shabaab 軍隊, which is linked to Islamic 明言する／公表する´s 競争相手 al Qaeda and once controlled much of Somalia.
The 部隊d 明言する／公表するs has occasionally carried out strikes against al Shabaab 交戦的なs in Somalia, which 保持するs a strong presence in parts of the south and 中心 and carries out gun and 爆弾 attacks.
The al Shabaab group 目的（とする）s to 運動 out the （国連の）平和維持軍s, 倒れる Somalia´s Western-支援するd 政府 and 課す its strict 見解／翻訳／版 of Islam on the Horn of Africa 明言する／公表する.
More than 350 people were killed in twin 爆破s in the Somali 資本／首都 Mogadishu last month, the deadliest attack in the country's history.
