地元の 選挙s 配達する Brexit bashing for Britain's May and 対立

LONDON, May 3 (Reuters) - English 投票者s 失望させるd with the 行き詰まる over Brexit punished both 総理大臣 Theresa May's 保守的なs and the main 対立 労働 Party in 地元の 選挙s, results showed on Friday.

Thursday's 投票(する)ing for seats on 地元の 会議s in England 供給するd a stark 陳列する,発揮する of how Britain's 2016 投票(する) to leave the European Union has 分裂(する) 投票者s beyond 伝統的な party lines.

Brexit has 損失d the standing of the big parties, both of which are internally divided over how or even whether to lead Britain out of the EU, and have struggled to 配達する a coherent message to 投票者s on either 味方する.

"It just seems 投票者s, period, 説: 'A 疫病/悩ます on both your houses'," said John Curtice, Britain's 主要な 投票ing 専門家.

失望/欲求不満 いつかs boiled over. One audience member shouted "Why don't you 辞職する?" before May 演説(する)/住所d 保守的なs in むちの跡s. Some 投票(する) papers were spoiled, with 投票者s 辞退するing to 投票(する) for any of the parties.

With all of the English results counted, the 保守的な Party had 苦しむd a 逮捕する loss of 1,332 seats on 地元の 会議s that were up for re-選挙, 負かす/撃墜する by around a 4半期/4分の1. 労働, which would typically 目的(とする) to 伸び(る) hundreds of seats in a 中央の-称する,呼ぶ/期間/用語 投票(する), instead lost 81.

The main 受益者s of the swing against the two main parties were the プロの/賛成の-EU 自由主義の 民主党員s, who (選挙などの)運動をするd on a straightforward 需要・要求する for a new 国民投票, 目的(とする)ing to 逆転する Brexit. They had won 700 議員s, more than 二塁打ing their seats. The Greens, who also 支援する a second Brexit 国民投票, 伸び(る)d 194 seats.

The プロの/賛成の-Brexit UK Independence Party (UKIP) lost seats, but its former leader has 始める,決める up a new Brexit Party, which was not contesting Thursday's 投票(する) and had called for 支持者s to stay home or spoil their 投票(する)s.

Britain was meant to have left the EU on March 29, but after 議会 繰り返して failed to 支援する May' s 協定 on the 出口 条件, she was 軍隊d to 捜し出す an 拡張.

Brexit is now 予定 in October, and May is 交渉するing with 労働 to find a 妥協. 会談 next week are not 推定する/予想するd to reach a 打開.

But growing numbers of people on one 味方する want to やめる the EU 突然の with no 取引,協定, and on the other 味方する hope to 回避する Brexit altogether, 選択s that neither big party's leadership has 支援するd to the 失望/欲求不満 of many of their 行動主義者s.

The result 示唆するs the two main parties could be in for a drubbing at 選挙s for the European 議会, which Britain is 始める,決める to 持つ/拘留する on May 23 because it has so far failed to leave the EU. The 保守的なs and 労働 will 直面する an array of parties 誘惑するing away their 行動主義者s with straightforward プロの/賛成の- and anti-Brexit positions.

The BBC 事業/計画(する)d that, if the 地元の 選挙 results were replicated across Britain, both the 保守的なs and 労働 would get 28 パーセント of the total 投票(する).

"JUST GET ON AND DELIVER"

労働 sources said their party had little to 恐れる from the results so far, 説 it was always going to be a "堅い" 戦う/戦い in 会議s that 伝統的に favour the 保守的なs.

堅い was also the word the 保守的なs used to 述べる the 地元の 選挙s, with some pinning the 非難する for the party's bad showing on the 行き詰まる in 議会, which has 拒絶するd May's Brexit 取引,協定 three times.

May told her party in むちの跡s: "There was a simple message from yesterday's 選挙s, to both us and the 労働 Party: just get on and 配達する Brexit."

In rare 協定 was 労働 leader Jeremy Corbyn, who said there was now a "抱擁する impetus" on every 国会議員 to "get a 取引,協定 done ... 議会 has to 解決する this 問題/発行する. I think that is very (疑いを)晴らす."

It is still 不明瞭な how the Brexit 行き詰まる might be broken, though some say May might call a 総選挙, a prospect Curtice said could end in another 議会 where no party has an 全体にわたる 大多数.

The 保守的なs had been を締めるing for big losses in Thursday's 選挙s - which could 生き返らせる calls for May to step 負かす/撃墜する and for a change in Brexit 政策. 地元の マスコミ said the result was the worst showing by the 保守的なs for more than 20 years.

"People have very categorically said that she is part of the problem," former 保守的な 大臣 and Brexit 支持者 Priti Patel told BBC TV. "I think we need change, I don't think we can continue like this."

Many 保守的な eurosceptics 恐れる the newly 開始する,打ち上げるd Brexit Party of former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, which did not contest the 地元の 投票s but is 推定する/予想するd to do 井戸/弁護士席 in the European 選挙s later this month.

That has encouraged some to call for the 政府 to take a tougher 姿勢 on Brexit and 需要・要求する a clean 分裂(する) with the EU.

For 労働, others 示唆するd the party should move to supporting a second 国民投票, 公式文書,認めるing that the 自由主義の 民主党員s had 利益d from their (疑いを)晴らす-削減(する) 姿勢.

"We've seen 伸び(る)s in both Remain and Leave areas, with 抱擁する swings to us in both former 保守的な and 労働 seats," Luisa Porritt, a LibDem 議員, told Reuters.

"Given our unapologetically anti-Brexit 姿勢, this bodes very 井戸/弁護士席 for the 近づいている European 選挙s." (付加 報告(する)/憶測ing by James Davey and Kate Holton 令状ing by Guy Faulconbridge and Elizabeth Piper Editing by Janet Lawrence and Peter Graff)
