FOREX-Yen jumps, yuan 低迷s on worries 中国 struggling to 含む/封じ込める ウイルス

TOKYO, Jan 27 (Reuters) - The yen rose and the yuan fell in 沖合いの/海外の 貿易(する) on Monday as worries that 中国 is struggling to 含む/封じ込める the spread of a 肺炎-like ウイルス 誘発するd a 一区切り/(ボクシングなどの)試合 of 危険 aversion.

Japan's 通貨, often sought as a 安全な-港/避難所 in times of 不確定, rose to the highest in almost three weeks versus the dollar, while the yuan fell to its lowest since Jan. 8.

中国's 閣僚 発表するd it will 延長する the Lunar New Year holidays to Feb. 2, to 強化する the 予防 and 支配(する)/統制する of the new coronavirus, 明言する/公表する 放送者 CCTV 報告(する)/憶測d 早期に on Monday. The holidays had been 予定 to end on Jan. 30.

Hong Kong has also banned the 入ること/参加(者) of 訪問者s from 中国's Hubei 州, where the new coronavirus 突発/発生 was first 報告(する)/憶測d, 最高潮の場面ing the difficulty 公式の/役人s 直面する during a 頂点(に達する) travel season.

Health 当局 around the world are racing to 妨げる a pandemic of the ウイルス, which has 感染させるd more than 2,000 people in 中国 and killed 76.

There are 関心s that 観光旅行,事業 and 消費者 spending could take a 攻撃する,衝突する if the ウイルス spreads その上の, which would discourage 投資家s from taking on 過度の 危険.

"There is a lot of 不確定 about how much その上の the ウイルス will spread, and this is behind the moves in 通貨s," said Yukio Ishizuki, foreign 交流 strategist at Daiwa 安全s in Tokyo.

"I thought dollar/yen would be supported at 109, but it broke through that, so now the next 的 is 108.50. This 危険-off mood is likely to continue for a while."

The yen rose 0.3% to 108.91 per dollar on Monday, reaching its strongest level since Jan. 8.

Japan's 通貨 also jumped around 0.5% versus the Australian and New Zealand dollars as worries about the ウイルス drew 仲買人s toward 安全な-港/避難所 通貨s and away from 通貨s that are more 極度の慎重さを要する to 危険.

In the 沖合いの/海外の market, the yuan fell more than 0.3% to 6.9625 against the dollar, its weakest since Jan 8.

The dollar 索引 against a basket of six major 通貨s was little changed at 97.884.

仲買人s said market moves could be 誇張するd 予定 to low liquidity, because 財政上の markets in 中国, Hong Kong, and Australia are の近くにd for holidays.

The ウイルス, which 現れるd late last year from 不法に 貿易(する)d 野性生物 at an animal market in the central Chinese city of Wuhan, has spread to other countries, 含むing Singapore, South Korea, Canada, Japan, and the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs.

中国's Hubei 州, where Wuhan is 位置を示すd, said on Monday that 76 people have died and 1,423 new 事例/患者s of the coronavirus 突発/発生 have been identified as of end of Sunday.
