Salomon said a 代表 made up of Nicaraguan army, police and the 地方自治体の 政府 was on the way to the reserve to 調査/捜査する the attack.

The 政府 did not 答える/応じる to a request for comment.

With only about 30,000 people spread across the country, Mayagna (不足などを)補う about 0.5% of Nicaragua's 全住民.

The Mayagna have been complaining since 2014 about living under 包囲 from 武装した groups who are 掴むing their lands, and last year their leader said his people are 直面するing an existential 危険.

"They're 皆殺しにするing us little by little and the 明言する/公表する is doing nothing," Gustavo Lino, the highest-最高位の Mayagna leader, said last year.

Nicaragua had been a world leader in the 認めるing of land 装備する hts to native peoples. Indigenous communities 伸び(る)d 自治 in 1987 over their ancestral lands and a 法律 was introduced in 2003 to 許す indigenous people to 適用する for land 肩書を与えるs.

But indigenous communities have more recently 非難するd the 政府 for not doing enough to 保護する them and their way of life.
