Serbia backpedals from planned 週末 lockdown after 抗議するs

BELGRADE, July 9 (Reuters) - Thousands 行う/開催する/段階d a sit-負かす/撃墜する 決起大会/結集させる in ベオグラード on Thursday to 反対する to any reimposition of coronavirus 抑制(する)s and to 発言する/表明する 対立 to the 政府, an even-tempered 抗議する that contrasted はっきりと with 暴動s in the past two days.

類似の 抗議するs were also held in several Serbian cities and (機の)カム hours after 当局 dropped 計画(する)s for a 週末 lockdown in the 資本/首都 to 抑制(する) a new spread of the coronavirus.

A 政府 危機 group decided instead on a more 限られた/立憲的な 禁止(する) on outdoor and indoor public 集会s of more than 10 people. It also 縮めるd working hours at indoor restaurants and cafes.

総理大臣 Ana Brnabic who 以前 警告するd more 週末 lockdowns are possible if new 対策 fail and that ベオグラード's healthcare system was breaking 負かす/撃墜する, said she "had nothing" against 平和的な 抗議するs.

"Such 集会s are a (health) 危険, but as long as they (抗議する人s) wear 直面する masks ... and if 抗議するs are 平和的な - it is all 井戸/弁護士席," she told 明言する/公表する-run RTS TV.

"We are also enjoying the afternoon, as long as 抗議する人s are 静める, we will keep on enjoying it," a policeman said.

抗議するs were 誘発するd earlier in the week after 大統領 Aleksandar Vucic 発表するd that a 週末 lockdown would be necessary.

The demonstrations were at first driven by 怒り/怒る and 失望/欲求不満 over economically-stifling 対策 to 含む/封じ込める the pandemic but quickly 発展させるd into anti-政府 決起大会/結集させるs with 関係者s 需要・要求するing Vucic's 辞職.

Serbia, a country of 7 million, has so far 報告(する)/憶測d 17,342 確認するd 事例/患者s of COVID-19 and 352 deaths.

Critics say 政府 決定/判定勝ち(する)s to 許す サッカー matches, 宗教的な festivities, parties, and 私的な 集会s to 再開する in May, and a June 21 議会の 投票(する), are to 非難する for the new 殺到する in 感染s.
