あられ／賞賛する, high water and lockdown: Europe's fruit growers 準備する for 堅い 収穫

PARIS/LONDON, July 31 (Reuters) - Europe's been eating more fruit under lockdown, by all accounts. The problem is, it could struggle to find people to 選ぶ it.
The 地域's growers are 準備するing for 近づいている summer and autumn 収穫s of apples, pears and grapes, 含むing those of the シャンペン酒 variety - though they say they may have little to celebrate.
Many 恐れる there will be resurgent 突発／発生s of COVID-19 in parts of Europe - like the 現在の one in Spain - 主要な to localised lockdowns and the 危険 they will be 削減（する） off from the migrant 労働者s they have long relied on.
"We are worried," said Daniel Sauvaitre, 長，率いる of a French apple and pear 協会 and 副 長，率いる of fruit and vegetable 連合 Interfel. "We had the 動員可能数 we needed for the thinning work in orchards, and the 収穫 looks pretty good. But we may very 井戸／弁護士席 have a country that's の近くにing again."

In Portugal, berry farms turned to thousands of migrant 労働者s from South Asia who were already in the country and lost 職業s in 観光旅行，事業 during the lockdown.
There are now worries that it might be harder to 新採用する 地元で for the apple 収穫 in September as many 労働者s have now returned to their previous 職業s outside farming.
CHAMPAGNE STRAITS
In フラン, the シャンペン酒 grape h arvest ぼんやり現れるs large in the farm 労働 cycle, with 生産者s taking in between 100,000 and 120,000 seasonal 労働者s every year, of which 27% come from abroad, によれば Christophe Pernet, chairman of シャンペン酒 winemakers group SGV.
生産者s have been 接触するing universities and 職業 centres to 促進する 収穫 work with a 見解（をとる） to covering a 不足 of foreign labourers if 国境s の近くに again, he said.
シャンペン酒 grape growers are in a quandary; 需要・要求する has been dented 借りがあるing to the 崩壊（する） of restaurant and 観光旅行，事業 activity, which has squeezed 財政／金融s. But even if it 選ぶs up, they may be unable to capitalise as migrant 労働 is 乾燥した，日照りのing up.
Big 生産者s are likely to 削減（する） 支援する on 収穫 容積／容量s and take on より小数の seasonal 労働者s, said Richard Buxant, 製品 経営者／支配人 at WiziFarm, a start-up that runs a 職業-matching website for farming.
Earlier in the year, European fruit growers had managed to navigate spring 収穫s of 刈るs such as strawberries, melons, peaches and cherries as they fell around the time when lockdowns were first introduced and farms had enough 労働 in 手渡す.
Locked-負かす／撃墜する shoppers across the world also embraced healthier eating, buying more fruit and vegetables and cutting spending on ready-made meals, によれば a 調査する of nearly 11,000 people in 11 countries at the University of Antwerp.
However much of the migrant 労働 has since left for home まっただ中に the pandemic. And even if growers can find 地元の 交替／補充s, some complain that they are not as 生産力のある, 追加するing to costs.

Both have worked but there is a long way to go."
