The 禁止(する) dished out to Sun, the pride of Chinese swimming, is fodder to those who had long harboured 疑惑s about the country's programme 予定 to its patchy 麻薬ing 記録,記録的な/記録する.

中国's swimming programme has seen its 評判 (名声などを)汚すd by a 一連の スキャンダルs, most 顕著に when one 女性(の) swimmer was caught with 13 vials of human growth hormone at Sydney airport ahead of the 1998 world 選手権s in Perth.

The CSA did not 答える/応じる to Reuters requests for comment for this article.

The スキャンダルs have often left Chinese swimmers 取引,協定ing with questions over their 業績/成果s.

Just 16 at the time, Ye, who has never 実験(する)d 肯定的な for 麻薬ing, was 軍隊d to fend off questions and insinuations of cheating, and (刑事)被告 her critics of 存在 biased against Chinese 競技者s.

"My results come from hard work and training and I would never use any banned 麻薬s," she told reporters in London. "The Chinese people have clean 手渡すs."

'VILIFIED'

A former Olympic swimmer who retired after the Rio Games and did not want to be 指名するd 予定 to the sensitivity of the 問題/発行する said it was hard to change perceptions about the country's swimming programme 予定 to the スキャンダルs.

"The Chinese are definitely vilified. For 競技者s from other countries, you don't get people 告発する/非難するing the whole country of 麻薬ing," he said, 追加するing that 麻薬ing is 極端に 流布している across many different countries.

In interviews with Reuters, five former Olympians said Chinese swimmers 準備するing for the Tokyo Olympics would 直面する 増加するd public scrutiny 予定 to Sun's 禁止(する).

They also said Sun had been portrayed in a いっそう少なく favourable light over his 麻薬ing 主張s compared with 競技者s in 類似の positions from countries such as Australia and the 部隊d 明言する/公表するs.

Some fellow swimmers such as Britain's Adam Peaty had called for a lifetime 禁止(する) for Sun, while Australia's Mack Horton 辞退するd to 株 a podium with him after the Chinese swimmer won the 400m 自由型 at the 2019 world 選手権s.

Former Olympic 支持する/優勝者 Matt Biondi said he did not believe there was anti-Chinese 感情 in the sport but that the culture was very different and more formal.

"They very much keep themselves 孤立するd and so it sort of is reflective of the opinion of the outside world. I think 基本的に people feel as though they have tried to (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域 the system with 麻薬s and so that's not 権利."

Chinese netizens have mostly 決起大会/結集させるd around Sun since the his 禁止(する), 称讃するing the 3倍になる Olympic and 11-times world 支持する/優勝者 for all his 業績/成就s as the 29-year old 公約するd to 固執する with his career.
