Hong Kong's Lam tells solicitors' group to stay out of politics

HONG KONG, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Hong Kong's 政府 may 削減（する） 関係 with one of the city's 重要な 合法的な profession 協会s if it gets 伴う／関わるd in politics, leader Carrie Lam said on Tuesday in her 最新の 警告 to civil society groups.
Lam's comments come before an Aug. 24 選挙 for five seats on the 会議 of Hong Kong's 法律 Society, the professional 協会 and regulator for the city's 12,000 solicitors.

Although the 法律 Society is seen as more 保守的な than the 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業 協会, 審議s in its 最近の 選挙s have 焦点（を合わせる）d on a more 自由主義の 協議事項. This year, four of the 候補者s are considered outspoken, raising 恐れるs の中で some 政府 公式の／役人s of a political 協議事項.
"If the 法律 Society´s professionalism is trumped by politics, the 政府 will consider cutting 関係 with it," Lam told reporters at her 正規の／正選手 週刊誌 news 会議／協議会.
On Saturday, 中国's People Daily, the 公式の／役人 newspaper of the 判決，裁定 共産主義者 Party, called on the 法律 Society not to become a "politicised group" and show it was different than the 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業 協会, which it 述べるd as a "running ネズミ."
