Britons are hunkering down tonight as parts of the country could endure thunder, lightning and heavy rain as unsettled spring weather continues amid concerns over a bank holiday weekend washout. Temperatures are building this week with 20C (68F) highs expected for the South of England again today after yesterday - before 22C (72F) could follow tomorrow.

Lightning with the risk of hail will move north-westwards across southern England into Wales overnight, particularly during the early hours of tomorrow. A thunderstorm warning has been issued for South West England and Wales from 8pm tonight until 8am tomorrow for up to 50mm (2in) of rain in two to three hours.

But the Met Office said the warmer 条件s will also bring a 危険 of 'active 雷雨s' across central and southern parts of England and むちの跡s tonight. 雷 with the 危険 of あられ／賞賛する will move north-西方のs across southern England into むちの跡s 夜通し, 特に during the 早期に hours of tomorrow. Looking further ahead, forecasters said this bank holiday weekend will be 'remaining changeable with further spells of rain or showers' with rain spreading from the West.
