'Dad's 広大な／多数の／重要な (but I'd save mum first!)' George Lamb’s cheeky banter with his father Larry has made them a 最高の，を越す TV 二塁打 行為／法令／行動する ? and there’s plenty of it in their new Turkish travelogue

Larry Lamb sounds perfectly 納得させるing when he says, ‘I was never a philanderer’. How could you 疑問 those twinkling 注目する，もくろむs and that 納得させるing shake of the 長，率いる??

It’s only when his son George 事実上 落ちるs off his seat laughing that the 疑問 始める，決めるs in. Let’s not forget Larry is an actor. It’s his 職業 to 納得させる.

What follows is hilarious. Larry gets やめる 怒った, 主張するing he was 絶対 not a philanderer.?

‘Not if you mean someone who goes from one woman to another when he’s still in a 関係. I was more the sort of person who went from one 関係 to the next, a serial monogamist.’?

George snorts. His father rolls his 注目する，もくろむs. Who to believe? So that means you never cheated when you were in a 関係? ‘Yeah 井戸／弁護士席, er, um. Maybe we should talk about the show...’

This little insight shows just why this pair have become a winning TV dou ble 行為／法令／行動する. Although both have had 単独の careers ? Larry, 70, as an actor, most famously on Gavin & Stacey and EastEnders; George, 37, as a presenter ? they first got together for a 無線で通信する show, then an ITV reality show called The Parent Trip.?

‘It was just an 拡張 of what we do in real life ? holiday together,’ says George. ‘We’d been on some 広大な／多数の／重要な trips so doing that for work was a dream.’

For a history nut like Larry, working on their new show Turkey A To B ? which 伴う／関わるd travelling 2,000 miles 一連の会議、交渉／完成する the country ? was even more of a 爆破. While he gives an impromptu history lesson about the city of Ephesus, George nods and says, ‘This is what he does. He’s a walking search engine. It’s why he’s 広大な／多数の／重要な to travel with, he knows everything.’

Their trip starts in Istanbul, where East 会合，会うs West. This city 代表するs the start of the Silk Road ? the 古代の 貿易（する） 大勝する linking Europe to Asia ? and their 旅行 begins, 適切な enough, with some haggling in the Grand Bazaar. Will Larry’s 伝説の gift of the gab be up to the 仕事? Why yes. ‘The thing about Dad is he has a knack for languages,’ laughs George. ‘He only has to be in a place for five minutes and he’s 選ぶd up the lingo. I wish I’d 相続するd a bit more of that.’

From Istanbul they 長，率いる to Alacati, home of Turkish olive oil 生産／産物, and get to see how it’s made. Then it’s on to 田舎の Pamukkale to swim の中で Roman 廃虚s where Cleopatra once bathed. What on earth do the 地元のs make of their 訪問者s? ‘They’re fascinated when they hear we’re father and son. That’s the lovely part,’ says Larry. ‘It just 追加するs another dynamic and they want to know all about us.’

George and Larry tease and 誘発する off each other, but when it comes to it they’re two halves of the same coin, much as George hates to 収容する／認める it. ‘We all think we’re nothing like our parents, but the older I get the more I think I’m 正確に／まさに like them both, God help me. Because my parents 分裂（する） up when I was young, Dad was the fun guy who lived 一連の会議、交渉／完成する the corner, my buddy. Mum was the disciplinarian. He’d put me on the handlebars of his bike, everything was an adventure. As I grew up we kept that 社債. It’s sad that it’s unusual these days for sons to hang out with their dads. My dad’s my mate.’

The difference here is that いつかs the son seems more grown-up than the father. George 確認するs he’s been in a 関係 ‘for a while’, while Larry’s love life is famously chequered. He’s been married ‘three or four times’ says George, which tells its own story. ‘Three,’ 確認するs Larry.

He married his first wife Anita Wisbey when he was 21 after she became 妊娠している. They 分裂（する） up soon after, and he only met his daughter Vanessa, who was born in 1969, once. Marriage number two was to American nurse Jacquie Parris, but the one most pivotal to George ? Larry’s marriage to his mum Linda ツバメ ? happened in 1979. The pair spli t in 1996.?

‘We just couldn’t live together,’ 収容する／認めるs Larry. ‘I was very immature. In fact, I think I was in my 60s before I grew up as far as women were 関心d.’ When Larry took part in I’m A Celebrity last year, テレビ視聴者s thought he was still in the 関係 he’d been in for 20 years with actress Clare Burt, mother of his daughters Eloise, born in 1999 and Eva, born in 2003.?

Yet he 現れるd into the 武器 of French artist Marie Victorine. He 確認するs today that they are together. ‘Forever,’ 麻薬を吸うs up George. ‘This is it. He’s finished.’ Larry laughs. ‘It’s true. I’ve finally worked out what I want from life.’

By the time George was old enough to understand what his father did, Larry was famous. ‘Was it glamorous having a famous dad 一連の会議、交渉／完成する the corner? No! I mean, he was glamorous. Every kid thinks their dad’s a god, but 地雷 was handsome and debonair and he looked like a god. But ーに関して／ーの点でs of money, no way. He’s always been rubbish with it. There’d be no money, then he’d get a 職業 and there’d be lots of it, then no money again.’

Having 分裂（する） from Linda, it would have been very 平易な for Larry to lose 接触する with his boy, He credits Linda with the fact this didn’t happen. ‘It was all her. She was 決定するd I’d have a 関係 with George, and the way we are today is all thanks to her.’

Many children from broken 関係s find it hard to understand why their parents 分裂（する） up, but George says he can’t understand how his stayed together so long. ‘They married after 11 days. That says it all.’ Many women, I 示唆する, would be cross to see their child worship the estranged husband. ‘I’m sure she has been,’ 譲歩するs George.?

‘But she knows 深い 負かす／撃墜する...’ he breaks off. ‘Put it this way, if there was a 解雇する／砲火／射撃 and I had to pull one of them out first, I’m pulling Mum out.’ Larry splut ters. ‘Sorry Dad, there you go. That’s the 賄賂.’
