MEANWHILE: Time to get over Tulsi Gabbard

Let's talk about 身元. Tulsi Gabbard is rightly proud of the tag she 法廷,裁判所s in India of 存在 the first Hindu member of the US 議会. But it’s time to get real.?

A US 国民 born in American Samoa to a Samoan-European father and Caucasian mother, the only 関係 Gabbard’s ethnicity has with India is that her birth-place is a ‘mere’ 10,000 or so kilometres from the land Christopher Columbus chanced upon, while looking for an 補欠/交替の/交替する 大勝する to the ‘Indies’.?

Yes, that’s how absurd the renown she enjoys here on account of her 宗教 is. The fact that Gabbard chose a 確かな 宗教 seems to have clouded all her other 業績/成就s―she has twice volunteered to ser ve in West Asia as a US Army 兵士, is also the first Samoan in the 議会, the youngest woman in the 議会 現在/一般に, and one of only two 女性(の) 戦闘 退役軍人s in the House.?

にもかかわらず all the feathers in her cap, most of the tweets Indians 地位,任命する about Gabbard’s 現在進行中の trip to India 言及する to her ‘Hindu’ 身元.?

Why? You can understand why Gabbard’s 選挙 evokes joy in Hindu-Americans or compatriots who follow other 少数,小数派 宗教s.?

The fact that Indian-American 政治家,政治屋s Nikki Haley and Bobby Jindal, too, identify themselves as Christians puts the picture into 状況. But really, one needs to move beyond 宗教.?

On her part, Gabbard seems to believe her presence in the US 議会 would help her fellow 代表者/国会議員s better understand the “宗教的な beliefs and aspirations of India’s 800 million Hindus”, and thus 除去する a 大規模な inhibitor to better 関係 between the two nations.?

It may be so. But it also must be said India-US 関係 do not depend on ‘Hinduism.’?
