議会 finds Mr Rai in Varanasi... but can he really （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域 Modi?

Too little, too late is how the 議会's 返答 to Narendra Modi's challenge in Varanasi could best be 述べるd.

On Tuesday, the party 指名するd 地元の 立法議員 Ajai Rai its 候補者 for the 重要な Lok Sabha seat after three weeks of brainstorming.

With the BJP bullish on Uttar Pardesh, which sends 80 MPs to the Lok Sabha, the party had on March 16 発表するd that its PM 指名された人 would contest from the 宗教上の town of Varanasi.

Taken aback by the magnitude of the challenge, 議会 経営者／支配人s had struggled since then to find a formidable 候補者.

As the party dithered, there was 普及した 憶測 over the probability of its 最高の，を越す 発射s, 範囲ing from Digvijaya Singh, Karan Singh Anand Sharma, Janardan Dwivedi to Priyanka Vadra, taking on BJP's PM 候補者.

As 議会 pundits got busy with 計算／見積りs to work out the best possible cast e equations to （警官の）巡回区域，受持ち区域 the BJP 指名された人, the 指名するs of 地元のs, 含むing former MP Rajesh Mishra and MLA Ajay Rai, moved 負かす／撃墜する the 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる） of probables.

"We will put a formidable 候補者 against Modi which will make him run away," 商業 大臣 Anand Sharma had 答える／応じるd a few days after Modi's 指名する was 発表するd.

In the past three weeks, 議会 経営者／支配人s struggled to 人物／姿／数字 out whether a Brahmin, a Bhumihar, a イスラム教徒 or an OBC would be the best 候補者 to attract 最大限 投票（する）s and 敗北・負かす the BJP's prime 大臣の 指名された人.

Last week word went around AICC, which was 狭くするing 負かす／撃墜する on the candidature of Rai, that the MLA who was earlier in the BJP and SP could 行為／法令／行動する like Ramesh Chand Tomar - the 議会 候補者 from Noida who やめる the party to join Modi.

This gave nightmares to party 経営者／支配人s, who kept explaining the 延期する was 予定 to the search for a strong and rooted 候補者 who would be able to 敗北・負かす Modi's 意見の不一致を生じる ideology.

On Tuesday, many in the 議会 wondered about the 推論する／理由s for the 延期する over the 告示 of its 候補者.

"If Ajay Rai was to be our 候補者, his 指名する could have been 発表するd much earlier," a 上級の 議会 leader said while 反応するing to the move.

公式文書，認めるing that Rai has worked as an associate member of the 議会 (when he was an 独立した・無所属 MLA) and later as a 十分な member (when he won the 議会 投票 on the party symbol), party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala 表明するd hope that the 立法議員 would keep the party's 旗 high.
