El Nino could play havoc with 季節風, 予報官s 警告する

India and its South Asian 隣人s are 推定する／予想するd to see below-普通の／平均（する） to 普通の／平均（する） rains this year if the El Nino 天候 pattern 伸び（る）s strength during the 季節風 season, a 会議 of 天候 専門家s said on Wednesday.

"There is a strong 合意 about the 可能性 of 進化 of an El Nino event during the summer 季節風 season," Reuters 引用するd D.S. Pai, the lead 予報官 of the Indian 天候 office as 説.

Rains could be below-普通の／平均（する） in Sri Lanka, Bhutan, and some parts of Pakistan, while an 普通の／平均（する） 季節風 is 推定する／予想するd in Bangladesh, Nepal and Afghanistan, Pai said.

The India 気象の Department will 解放（する） its 長期予報 for the 季節風 on Thursday. This will be followed by a 詳細（に述べる）d 季節風 予測（する） in June.

A strong El Nino, 示すd by a warming of the sea surface in the 太平洋の Ocean, can upset the 天候 pattern 原因（となる）ing 厳しい 干ばつ in Australia, Southeast Asia and India, while 主要な to 強い雨s in other parts of the world such as the US Midwest and Brazil in rains.

The WMO 査定する／（税金などを）課すd earlier this month that an El Nino could develop around the middle of the year. This 予測（する） followed 予測s by other 国家の 予報官s, 含むing 天候 bureaus in the 部隊d 明言する／公表するs, Japan and Australia, that an El Nino event was likely within months.

India 苦しむd a 厳しい 干ばつ in 2009 when 季節風 rains failed 予定 to El Nino, though in 1997, one of the strongest El Nino years, 降雨 was 2 per cent above 普通の／平均（する）.

The 季節風 is the main source of irrigation for India's 235 million 農業者s and 工場／植物ing of 刈るs 範囲ing from 米，稲 to soybeans and 情熱 are 扶養家族 on the rains.
