THE LAST WORD: A recipe for 災害 that could leave savers nursing 激しい losses

Walk into your 地元の High Street bank and you will certainly be 直面するd with a array of 貯金 計画(する)s 約束ing sparkling returns.

They use catchy words in their 肩書を与えるs such as '的 growth' and '資本/首都 安全な・保証する'.

The 指名するs of these structured 製品s seem very familiar? -? 特に for anyone caught up in the precipice 社債s スキャンダル a little under a 10年間 ago.

One pound coins burning in a fire

Money to 燃やす: 未来 savers must not be left nursing hefty losses on nest-eggs

These? -? now mercifully derided? -? 投資s had such 指名するs as '株式市場 income 社債', '首相 社債' or 'extra income and growth 計画(する)'.

And in another striking similarity with today's structured 製品s, savers were not fully 保護するd under the 財政上の Services 補償(金) 計画/陰謀 (FSCS).?

?

They were also sold to the same group of people: disillusioned and おもに 年輩の savers, who had seen their income from 伝統的な 貯金 accounts disappear.

Precipice 社債s, where you could lose 2 pc of your money for every 1 pc 落ちる in the 株式市場, were おもに unregulated. Structured 製品s are not.

In the end, the City 監視者 the 財政上の Services 当局 dished out 抱擁する 罰金s to the companies that sold precipice 社債s. Some £7.4 billion had been 投資するd in these, with losses to 投資家s 概算の to be £5 billion.

Yet even though there is almost seven times more held in structured 製品s, little has been done to 保護(する)/緊急輸入制限 savers' £52 billion of cash.

The problem with structured 製品s is they are hugely 複雑にするd and are 大部分は 存在 sold to novice 投資家s.

支配する one of 投資 is don't buy anything you don't understand. You may be sold the 投資 by that friendly young staff member at your bank's 地元の 支店, believing that it is where your money will be held.

Instead, it may be channelled to another 会社/堅い, often linked to the company that sells it. They then 投資する the cash in a コンビナート/複合体 投資 called a derivative. If this company goes 破産した/(警察が)手入れする, as Lehman Brothers' 投資家s 設立する to their 危険,危なくする, your money will disappear. You will 落ちる in to a 黒人/ボイコット 穴を開ける outside the 範囲 of the FSCS.

Is it too much to ask the banks for some transparency? Savers must be told 特に when their money is and is not 保護するd. Yet, once again, banks have been 許すd to do as they please.

大臣s 含むing Vince Cable, Ken Clarke, Michael Gove and Theresa May all 調印するd a ありふれたs 早期に Day 動議 last June to 勝利,勝つ 補償(金) for 犠牲者s of Lehmans.

Now, they seem too busy with their 職業s to bother with the problem.

However, what t hey can do is put 圧力 on the FSA to 確実にする 未来 savers are not left nursing hefty losses.

Road to 廃虚

It seems likely that European 裁判官s will decide next Tuesday that 保険 companies have been breaking gender 差別 法律s.

The 判決,裁定 will be made, in French, at 9am. By the time we have translated the 文書, it will be 法律. Just like that, 保険会社s could be 閉めだした from using gender as a statistic to help price 政策s.

Yet 明らかにする facts and 人物/姿/数字s are the lifeblood of the 保険 産業. Every time you buy an annuity or take out any type of 保険 政策, a company is calling on a 広大な database of (警察などへの)密告,告訴(状) about the 危険s 伴う/関わるd.

In 2006, seven out of ten people 本気で 負傷させるd on British roads were male: 19,886 men were 本気で 負傷させるd in road 衝突,墜落s, compared with 8,785 women.

Some 161,902 male car drivers were 伴う/関わるd in 衝突,墜落s in 2006, and 90,123 女性(の) car drivers

European 裁判官s are trying to (判決などを)下す these facts statistically insignificant.

It's another example of European 法律s 存在 軍隊d on Britain.

Instead of helping to rid Britain of prejudice and 促進するing equality, all European 裁判官s are doing is 最高潮の場面ing the difference between the sexes.

They are penalising the 用心深い and healthy by making them 支払う/賃金 for those with little regard for others.
