Secret history?

GETTING 詳細（に述べる）s of your credit history is simple. A cheque for £2 to one of the main credit 言及／関連 機関s should produce by return of 地位，任命する your personal credit 記録，記録的な／記録する, 含むing credit cards, 貸付金s and any 行方不明になるd 支払い（額）s.

The 正確 of these 記録，記録的な／記録するs is 決定的な because they are used by banks and credit card companies to decide whether to give you credit. But you might just get more （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） than you 取引d for, as I discovered recently.

This month I wrote to credit 言及／関連 機関 Experian for a copy of my credit とじ込み／提出する. What I got 支援する shocked me because, 同様に as 詳細（に述べる）s of the two 蓄える／店 cards I 持つ／拘留する, I was given 財政上の （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） on my 64-year old father David, who lives at the same 演説（する）／住所 in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

Not only was I told that my father, the 大臣 at Bognor Regis Methodist Church, has credit cards with GE 資本／首都, M&S 財政上の Services, Bank of Scotland and Goldfish, but I was told the cards' credit 限界s and whether he had 行方不明になるd any 支払い（額）s in the past 12 months. I was also given 詳細（に述べる）s of his Halifax 経常収支, 含むing the size of his overdraft.

Thankfully, my father has nothing to hide. Yet the fact that I was sent 高度に personal （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） about his 財政／金融s alarmed him. And this was not an 孤立するd 出来事/事件. The 長，指導者 犯人s, Experian and Equifax, 定期的に 供給（する） 消費者s with 財政上の （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） about 親族s who live at the same 演説（する）／住所 and 株 the same 指名する - even if they do not have 共同の 財政上の 手はず／準備.

Stuart Coverley of the 国家の 消費者 連合 says: 'It is outrageous that someone's 私的な 財政上の 詳細（に述べる）s are automatically sent out to other people living at the same 演説（する）／住所 without their 許可.' マイク Naylor, 広報担当者 for the 消費者s' 協会, says: ' People should get copies of their credit とじ込み／提出するs to find out if they are linked with others because it may 影響する／感情 their ability to 得る credit.'

Roger Bingham, a 広報担当者 for human 権利s lawyers Liberty, is 平等に 関心d. He says: 'This is 明確に in 違反 of people's 権利 to privacy.'

Last year, the 消費者 credit 産業 誓約（する）d to end the use of third-party data such as 財政上の （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） about family members to 査定する／（税金などを）課す individual credit 使用／適用s. However, 予定 to the 複雑さ of updating computer systems, credit とじ込み／提出するs will continue to 含む／封じ込める thir d-party data for at least another year.

Jill Stevens, director of 消費者 relations at Experian, says the 機関 is 合法的に 強いるd to 供給する a 消費者 with a copy of all the （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） that might be seen by a 貸す人 when making a credit 決定／判定勝ち（する） about them.

She says: 'At the moment, 貸す人s are 許すd to look at （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） about people with the same surname who live at the same 演説（する）／住所 and so we have to 含む this on the とじ込み／提出する. If 消費者s are not financially connected to the people they live with, then they should let us know and we will break the link.'

Barry Conroy, a director of Equifax, says: 'At the moment, all the 産業's computer systems are predicated on the use of thirdparty-data to 査定する／（税金などを）課す 危険. Changing them is a コンビナート／複合体 過程 that is costing millions of 続けざまに猛撃するs. We hope that the whole 産業 will have switched over by late 2003.'

Anne Hinde is associate commissioner with the （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） Commissioner's office, whose 役割 is to 施行する the Data 保護 行為／法令／行動する, which gives people the 権利 to look at their credit 記録，記録的な／記録するs. She says: 'The commissioner is keeping closely in touch with the credit-言及／関連 機関s about their 時刻表／予定表 to introduce the changes that will bring about the 除去 of most third party data from credit 言及／関連 とじ込み／提出するs.'

Putting your とじ込み／提出する straight
INFORMATION held by credit 率ing 機関s 名簿（に載せる）／表（にあげる）s 財政上の companies where individuals have held accounts in the past six years and any 見込みのある 貸す人s who have 検査／視察するd the とじ込み／提出する.

A credit とじ込み／提出する does not 含む an 査定／評価 of creditworthiness, which is worked out to a secret 決まり文句／製法 by a 見込みのある 貸す人.

You can 得る a copy of your credit とじ込み／提出する by 令状ing to each credit 言及／関連 機関 with your 演説（する）／住所s during the past six years and a cheque for £2. If there is （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） on your とじ込み／提出する about other people with whom you have no 財政上の 関係s, you can ask for it to be 除去するd. This will also automatically 除去する any （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） about you from the other person's とじ込み／提出する.

You should also 接触する the credit 言及／関連 機関 if you believe that any （警察などへの）密告，告訴（状） in your とじ込み／提出する is incorrect.
