Companies 申し込む/申し出ing cash for gold jewellery in a 最近の flurry of TV adverts are 支払う/賃金ing a fraction of the items' true 価値(がある).

Three pieces of new jewellery 購入(する)d by Which? for a total of £729 drew 申し込む/申し出s from the 会社/堅いs of as little as £38.57 for the lot.

One company 辞退するd to return a £399 necklace 解放する/自由な of 告発(する),告訴(する)/料金, as 約束d, on the 不確かの pretext that it was not gold at all.

The 会社/堅いs sell their services on TV on the basis that 顧客s can 地位,任命する off their old and unwanted jewellery and turn it into cash to 支払う/賃金 for a holiday or to (疑いを)晴らす 負債s.

The Which? Money magazine 選ぶd out three items of jewellery on the High Street, a £115 bracelet, £215 bangle and £399 necklace, and 購入(する)d four of each. In November 2009 it sent them to four TV gold 買い手s, 同様に as getting 引用するs from three High Street pawnbrokers and three jewellers.

CashMyGold 申し込む/申し出d the lowest prices on all three items, 申し込む/申し出ing just £38.57 in total for the three pieces.

The 会社/堅い 申し込む/申し出d just under £10 for the 9ct gold bangle. This compared to a 捨てる metal price 引用する of £54 from an 独立した・無所属 jeweller. In one instance, Money4Gold told a Which? Money 研究員 that a 9ct necklace he bought for £399 was 'not gold' and it would cost him £10.95 to have it returned.

The 捨てる value of a neckla ce will be かなり いっそう少なく than its price as a piece of jewellery. However, this does not explain the paltry 申し込む/申し出s.

On 普通の/平均(する), the TV gold 買い手s 申し込む/申し出d around 6% of the 小売 price for gold. High Street 蓄える/店s paid around 25%.

The magazine said: 'Companies that encourage people to sell their unwanted gold by 地位,任命する are 申し込む/申し出ing 消費者s shockingly bad value and should be 避けるd.'

郵便の Gold surprised the 研究員 by upping its 引用する when he 拒絶するd its cheque - almost 二塁打ing its 申し込む/申し出 for the bracelet and bangle. However, these 率s were still far lower than those from jewellers and pawnbrokers.

The 会社/堅いs 主張する the prices they 申し込む/申し出 反映する the fact they have different costs to pawnbrokers and jewellers.

CashMyGold's managing director Justin Prichard 追加するd: 'Gold 小売 prices and the prices 得るd for smelted gold are not 類似の.

'小売 gold can be sold at a 示すd up price of up to 300%.' He said that for this 推論する/理由, they advertised only for old or broken jewellery.
