Scottish & Southern Energy 発表するd a 9.4% gas price 増加する from December 1, 追加するing £67 to the 普通の／平均（する） 年次の 法案.

Other big 供給者s may follow, but taking a 直す／買収する，八百長をするd 率 to guard against price 増加するs may be a 誤った economy.

直す／買収する，八百長をするd 関税s can cost 27% more than online 取引，協定s, 追加するing £231 per year to the 普通の／平均（する） energy 法案. But 専門家s say prices are ありそうもない to rise by this 量 over the coming year.

Yesterday, EDF 発表するd it will 凍結する 基準 gas and electricity prices until March 2011. EDF's best online 関税 - where 法案s are sent by email - costs £867 per year for the 普通の／平均（する） home. But this rises to £1,098 for the 年次の 直す／買収する，八百長をする - a difference of 27%.

Scottish 力／強力にする's online 取引，協定 is £962, 反して its 直す／買収する，八百長をするd 関税 is £1,226, によれば comparison 場所／位置 Moneysupermarket.com.

Ovo energy is the only provider to 申し込む／申し出 the same price for its online and 直す／買収する，八百長をするd 関税 顧客s, at an 普通の／平均（する） cost of £993.

Ann Robinson, of comparison 場所／位置 uSwitch.com, says: '直す／買収する，八百長をするd 関税s can be expensive; it is only 価値（がある） 支払う／賃金ing the extra if you are 確信して prices will 増加する by that much.

'There are two 重要な steps to keeping a lid on your energy 法案s - make your home more energy efficient, and switch to a 競争の激しい energy 計画（する） so you 支払う／賃金 いっそう少なく for the energy you use. This could save around £422 per year.'

With 直す／買収する，八百長をするd-率 関税s, it is the price for the 部隊s of energy that is 直す／買収する，八百長をするd - not the 量 you 支払う／賃金, which still depends on how much gas and electricity you use.

Online 関税s are typically 15% cheaper than 関税s where people receive paper 法案s.

An EDF spokeswoman says 顧客s 支払う／賃金 a 賞与金 for 直す／買収する，八百長をするd 関税s to 'cover the 危険 供給者s 直面する with a variable 卸売 energy market'.

With energy costs already 31% - or £238 - more expensive than in J anuary 2008, charity Age UK says millions of older people have 訴える手段／行楽地d to 激烈な 対策 to fend off the 冷淡な, such as staying in bed during the day.

All 世帯s should receive an '年次の 声明' by Christmas 明言する／公表するing 年次の usage and the exact 指名する of your 関税 to 許す proper cost comparisons when switching.

If you do not want to switch, then 支払う／賃金 your 法案s by 月毎の direct debit and tell your 供給者 you want to be moved to its cheapest tarrif. 服従させる／提出する 正規の／正選手 メーター readings to 確実にする your 法案s are not based on 見積（る）s.

If you are in 燃料 poverty - where one-tenth or more of your income goes on gas and electricity - ask if you are 適格の for your 供給者's 'social 関税', which gives a 割引 to the most 攻撃を受けやすい 顧客s.

Your energy 供給者 may also 申し込む／申し出 a lower-cost 計画／陰謀 for older people.

The Hendersons (left) spend most of their time at home, and say keeping warm this winter is a big worry.

Mr Henderson, 70, says: 'We switched 供給者s about three years ago, which was straightforward, but I think it's time to switch again.

'I am 気が進まない to manage my account online, as I like paper 法案s, so it is annoying that these are the cheapest 取引，協定s.

'We have loft and cavity 塀で囲む insulation and use our 器具s very carefully.

'It makes me angry reading about energy 供給者s' 年次の 利益（をあげる）s when we are struggling to get by on the 明言する／公表する 年金. We 簡単に can't afford such large 増加するs to our 法案s.'

HOW TO REDUCE YOUR BILL

? TURN your thermostat 負かす／撃墜する. 減ずるing your room 気温 by 1°C can save, on 普通の／平均（する）, £50 per year.

? IS YOUR water too hot? Your cylinder thermostat should be 始める，決める at 60°C/140°F.

? DO NOT unnecessarily leave 器具s on 代替要員，物 or 告発（する），告訴（する）／料金.

? USE energy-saving lightbulbs. These save you around £45 over the lifetime of the bulb.

? WASH 着せる／賦与するs at 30°C, and always wash a 十分な 負担.
