We’ve been running our electric fan all night for the past week to try and stay 冷静な／正味の during the 熱波, but I’m わずかに 関心d about how much money this is going to 追加する to our energy 法案.

There has even been a run on electric fans and almost all major retailers have sold out as desperate 消費者s try and get 持つ／拘留する of one.

If you’ve got one at home, and it's been on a lot recently, you may now be wondering how much this might 追加する to your electricity 法案s.?

The exact cost to your 法案s depends on a few factors. The first is the 肉親，親類d of fan you have and the 量 of energy it uses. To find this out you need to check the ‘wattage’ or number of ワットs as it's more 一般的に known as this tells you the 普通の／平均（する） 量 of 力／強力にする the fan needs to operate.

Secondly, the price will depend on the number of hours you’re using the fan for and lastly the 肉親，親類d of energy 関税 you are 調印するd up to and the price per 部隊 of electricity you 支払う／賃金.

We asked Energyhelpline to 見積（る） the 普通の／平均（する） cost and a spokesperson said running a fan for 12 hours a night would cost between 5p and 14p in total.

This is worked out by taking an 普通の／平均（する） fan, which has a ワット of between 25 and 75, and looking at the 普通の／平均（する） price of a 部隊 of energy from a big six provider at 16p.?

To work out the cost, it multiplied the cost of the 部隊 of energy with the 普通の／平均（する） ワット for the fan and calculated that a fan with a wattage of 25 would cost an 普通の／平均（する） of £0.004 per hour while a fan with a wattage of 75 would cost £0.012 per hour.

Therefore if the fan was running for 12 hours a night, this would cost between 5 and 14p and for an entire week this would 追加する on a 最大限 of 98p to your electricity 法案 ? if you ran the fan for 12 hours every night.

Alternatively if you have a smart メーター you can easily see how much energy it is using by looking at the difference between your usage when the fan is on and then when it is switched off.?
