Prem Sikka, professor of accounting at the University of Essex, said: ‘[Lloyds] could argue the auditors should have been aware there were events going on, with a number of US banks 崩壊（する）ing, that should have encouraged them to be 懐疑的な.’

He said KPMG should have been ‘put on 調査’ ? a 義務 to 雇う greater scrutiny when outside events make it necessary.

Sikka pointed to the ‘dismal 記録，記録的な／記録する’ of auditors during the banking 危機 but said there were ‘pretty fo rmidable 障害物s’ to taking on the profession in 法廷，裁判所. He said: ‘No major 法律 会社／堅い will help you bring a 事例／患者 against the accounting 会社／堅い because lawyers get a lot of 商売／仕事 from them’.
