十分な circle: The spending squeeze was last as bad in 1955

The 落ちる has brought 劇の belt-強化するing and a 低迷 in the 量 消費者s are spending in the high street, on cars and on holidays.

City 分析家s yesterday 述べるd the 人物/姿/数字s as 'staggering' and 'awful'.

The 苦痛 for 消費者s is a direct result of a 崩壊(する) in the UK's 経済的な 業績/成果 which has brought the deepest 後退,不況 since the war.

世帯 incomes, 構成するing 支払う/賃金, 特別手当s and 利益s, fell by £2bn in the first three months of this year to stand at £191bn.

The 落ちる of 1.1% compared with the final three months of last year was the biggest since 1955, によれば 人物/姿/数字s published by the Office of 国家の 統計(学) (ONS). 世帯 spending at the start of this year fell 1.2% compared with the previous 4半期/4分の1, the biggest 百分率 落ちる since 1980.

The 人物/姿/数字s paint a portrait of a nation gripped by 恐れる of 失業, which has meant people are 簡単に too 脅すd to spend. This has been illustrated by a 落ちる of 55% year on year in the number of cars 製造(する)d in the UK.

Foreign 一括 holiday sales are 負かす/撃墜する by around 16%, while a raft of 世帯 指名する retailers, 含むing Woolworths and MFI, have been lost.

The ONS 確認するd that UK 経済的な 生産(高) fell by 1.9% in the first three months of 2009. The 年次の 率 of 拒絶する/低下する is 4.1%, which is the largest since 1980.

The 人物/姿/数字s make (疑いを)晴らす that it is only 政府 spending that is 確実にするing the 低迷 was not more serious. 製造業の 生産(高) was 負かす/撃墜する 5.5% in the first three months compared to the end of 2008, the service 部門 fell 1.2% and construction by 2.4%.

Most companies have been running 負かす/撃墜する 在庫/株s held in their 倉庫/問屋s. These 在庫s have fallen at their fastest 率 since 1948. In fact 在庫/株 levels are now so low that 会社/堅いs will now have to start placing orders, which will help 製造業者s.

経済学者 Brian Hilliard, of Societe Generale, said: 'I think these are staggering numbers. This is savage'.

Ross Walker, of 王室の Bank of Scotland, 述べるd the numbers as 'awful', though he said they were 大部分は in line with City expecatations.

Stephen 吊りくさび, of Monument 安全s, said the 落ちる in 消費者 spending was わずかに greater than 推定する/予想するd. However, he said UK 輸出(する)s have held up better than those of other nations, 大部分は because the 落ちる in 英貨の/純銀の has made our goods cheaper overseas.

The 暗い/優うつな 人物/姿/数字s are at 半端物s with some other 最近の 熟考する/考慮するs pointing to some 復活 in the 住宅 market and on the High Street.
