Visi on: David Cameron wants a Big Society

A mega credit union?

No, you're miles wide of the 示す. The Big Society Bank is far, far worthier than a mere building society. It's part of David Cameron's in-no-way-wooly 'Big Society' 事業/計画(する) to 抑えるのをやめる an army of socially-minded 国民s across the land.

And the bank?

The PM hasn't やめる worked out all the 詳細(に述べる)s yet but the 計画(する) is to use the Big Society Bank to give £400m to 地元の social 企業s and charities. They're running short of cash because of, ahem, Cameron's public spending 削減(する)s.

What the Lord giveth…

That would be a jaundiced way of 見解(をとる)ing this very 価値のある 演習. It'll be 'new' 基金s - rather than 再生利用するd money from spending 削減(する)s - that will 基金 the Big Society Bank. Some £200m will come from unclaimed 資産s, such as 活動停止中の bank accounts. RBS, Lloyds, Barclays and HSBC are 与える/捧げるing the 残り/休憩(する).

Can they afford it?

It'll be a stretch. 利益(をあげる)s, after all, are not what they used to be. But after 施し物ing out £5bn in 特別手当s, the Big Four are 確信して that there will be enough left over to help those いっそう少なく fortunate than themselves.

A big gesture

It is. The banks are fully 調印するd up members to the Eton-educated PM's political guiding light. We are indeed 'all in this together'.
