Thousands join 'Stop the knives, save lives' march on streets of London

Thousands of people 含むing 犠牲者s of violent 罪，犯罪s and families of 十代の少年少女s stabbed to death took to the streets of London today in a 企て，努力，提案 to stop young people carrying knives.

The People's March peace march was the brainchild of two south London women sickened by the rising tide of deaths they saw on the news.

After setting up a group on social 網状組織ing 場所／位置 Facebook, Sharon Singh and Gemma Olway, both 26, joined 軍隊s with the families of young people 殺人d on the UK streets and the Damilola Taylor 信用.

Gary Trowsdale, director of special 事業／計画（する）s at the Damilola Taylor 信用, said: "We think this could be the moment for change. We are looking to 茎・取り除く the tide because this is ordinary people coming together and 説 this has to stop.

Richard Taylor, whose son Damilola was stabbed in a stairwell at the age of 10, said: "We are sending a message to young people that they have not been forgotten and that we care but we are also not happy with them 解決するing minor 論争s and fighting over 問題／発行するs and then using a knife."

He said that the problems 茎・取り除く from "young people 存在 neglected, a 欠如（する） of parental care and the direct 影響（力） of 麻薬s. We also have a postcode problem which is 主要な to the ギャング（団） culture".

Sally Knox, whose son Robert was stabbed to death in Sidcup, said: "This is just a 大規模な chance for young people and families who are worried to step up and feel they are doing something.

"I just feel sick every time another stabbing happ ens knowing that the families have to go through what we have been through. I just don't want to keep reading it in the paper."

Her brother-in-法律 Kevin May said: "I'm 説 to people, don't wait until you become a 犠牲者 to get 伴う／関わるd. Please do something now, you may think it's not your problem but so did we. It will come to you."
