A grieving wife 恐れるs a dream Disneyland trip paid for by fundraisers to help her two young daughters 対処する with their father's death may be off because of the パスポート backlog shambles.

Nadine Burton, 37, is dreading having to tell Elsie, two, and Emilia, eight, they will not be going on the three-day trip to Paris because their パスポートs have not arrived.

The holiday has been paid for by the letting スパイ／執行官s their father Kevin Burton worked for before his death last year from pancreatitis 老年の 44.

Mrs Burton, a 円熟した student from Greater Manchester, says it was one of Kevin's dying wishes for the family to go on the trip and the company surprised them with the money.

She told MailOnline: 'I am desperate now... after all they have been through I can’t tell them that they’re not going.'

The family is one of 700,000 applicants waiting for their documentation, and it was （人命などを）奪う，主張するd yesterday that British holidaymakers could lose £1.1billion in cancelled trips 予定 to パスポートs not arriving in time.?

Mrs Burton lost her husband '完全に out of the blue' after he began experiencing stomach 苦痛 and sickness in July 2021.?

'His death has left a 穴を開ける that will never be filled but I've 公約するd to make him proud and carry on his 遺産／遺物 both with his girls, me and Aidan,' she said.?

In total, Kevin's work raised £3,000 for his dying wish with £1,000 存在 spent on the stay at Disneyland from May 17 until May 20 while the 残り／休憩（する） is also going に向かって a trip to New York for Mrs Burton's son?Aidan.?

A Home Office パスポート Office spokeswoman said:?'Our thoughts are with Mrs Burton and her family at this difficult time. We are 緊急に reviewing this 事例／患者 and will 確実にする the family receive their パスポート in time for their trip.

'Since April 2021, we have been advising people to 許す up to ten weeks when 適用するing for their British パスポート as more than five million people 延期するd 適用するing 予定 to the pandemic.

A パスポート 労働者 also told the i newspaper last week that the office is trying to 雇う 1,700 more staff, but '港／避難所't realised anything like that number' 予定 to difficulties 新採用するing on 'low 給料 and 一時的な 契約s'.

French-owned 私的な 会社／堅い Teleperformance, 契約d to run the パスポート Office's 接触する centre, was ordered to 雇う more people to 緩和する '容認できない 延期するs'.

The Home Office has a £22.8million five-year 契約 with the 私的な 会社／堅い to 供給する '接触する centre services' 含むing a 'パスポート advice service for HM パスポート Office'.

People trying to get in touch with the パスポート Office are also 存在 left waiting two weeks for 緊急の calls 支援する, with an 従業員 at the 機関 非難するing 'terrible 管理／経営'.

Speaking to The Times, the 従業員 said the 機関's helpline is a 'shambles' which has led to 'countless' people 行方不明の their holidays.

The number of valid UK パスポートs fell by more than 2.5 million during the first two calendar years of the Covid-19 pandemic as people 延期するd 使用／適用s.

A total of 48.9 million パスポートs were in 循環／発行部数 at the end of last year ? 2.6 million より小数の than at the end of 2019.

This is an abrupt change from the period before the pandemic, which had seen パスポート numbers rise from 50.0 million in December 2017 to 51.5 million two years later.

They show that an 普通の／平均（する） of 559,000 UK パスポートs were printed each month in 2019, but this dropped to 329,000 in 2020 and 回復するd only わずかに to 402,000 in 2021.

Some 967,000 パスポートs were printed across November and December last year, however.
