The Queen symbolically lit a chain of Platinum Jubilee beacons stretching around the world in her honour tonight in a touching 儀式 at Windsor 城.

Putting her mobility 問題/発行するs to one 味方する, the 96-year-old 君主 made a third public 外見 of the day to 開始する,打ち上げる more than 3,500 炎上ing 尊敬の印s to her 70-year 統治する by laying her 手渡す on a 特に created glittering 連邦/共和国 of Nations globe.

The event formed part of a special 二重の 儀式 with her grandson the Duke of Cambridge, waiting 22 miles away at Buckingham Palace where the beacon centrepiece - a 21-metre living ‘Tree of Trees’ sculpture - was subsequently illuminated in lights on the Queen's 命令(する).

The 君主 was 迎える/歓迎するd in the 城 Quadrangle with a ファンファーレ/誇示 by the 明言する/公表する Trumpeters at the 君主's 入り口, の近くに to her 私的な apartments, at 9.30pm.

The 連邦/共和国 of Nations Globe - a blue globe, which sits inside a silver 栄冠を与える on a blue and gold cushion - was 特に created for the Beacons 事業/計画(する) and was placed on a podium by five Yeoman Warders, led by 長,指導者 Yeoman Warder Peter McGowran.

It was created as a symbol 代表するing The Queen’s previous Jubilees and 含むs elements of silver, gold, diamonds and platinum.

The 石/投石するs in the 栄冠を与える signify the coming together of the four nations of the 部隊d Kingdom in 祝賀 of the Jubilee and were collected from the 最高の,を越す of the four highest 頂点(に達する)s - 開始する Snowdon, むちの跡s; Ben Nevis, Scotland; Slieve Donard, Northern Ireland, and Scafell Pike, England.

Louis, four, who is the youngest of the Cambridge children, was also photographed waving enthusiastically at bystanders earlier in the day, as he joined his siblings Prince George, eight, and Princess Charlotte, seven, in a carriage ride?負かす/撃墜する the 商店街 to Horse Guards Parade for the Queen's Birthday Parade.
