Australia's two-year 外交の 凍結する with 中国 has ended with a 会合 between?大臣 for?Defence Richard Marles and his Chinese 相当するもの General Wei Fenghe.

The 直面する-to-直面する 会合, held at the Shangri-La 安全 首脳会議 in Singapore, was the first high-level 接触する between the countries since January 2020.?

The 会合 follows a 'very dangerous' 中央の-空気／公表する 出来事/事件 in the South 中国 Sea, where?an Australian 秘かに調査する 計画（する） was 迎撃するd by a Chinese 闘士，戦闘機 jet while 行為／行うing 監視 on May 26.

Mr Marles said the RAAF P-8A Poseidon 航空機 was carrying out 海上の 監視 when it was 迎撃するd by a Chinese J-16 闘士，戦闘機 航空機 in a 'dangerous manoeuvre'.

But Beijing 攻撃する，衝突する 支援する through The 全世界の Times - the Chinese 共産主義者 Party's mouthpiece - which （刑事）被告 Australia of 事実上の／代理 like a 'little いじめ（る）'.?

Mr Marles said that 'What occurred was that the J-16 航空機 flew very の近くに to the 味方する of the P-8 海上の 監視 航空機.

'For example, where 正確に／まさに in the South 中国 Sea is the area in which the 出来事/事件 occurred?' it wrote.

'How far is it from the Chinese islands and 暗礁s in the 地域? What is their 目的 here? その上に, what did the Australian 軍の 航空機 do before the 迎撃する?'

Against the 背景 of 相互の antagonism,?Mr Marles said Sunday's 会合 was a 'frank and 十分な 交流' in which he spoke about 中国's 最近の of the Australian 空気／公表する 軍隊 計画（する）.

'This was an important 会合 between two countries of consequence in the Indo-太平洋の 会合,' he told reporters in Singapore.

Australian-Chinese relations have 耐えるd a difficult time since April 2020, when then-首相 Scott Morrison called for World Health Organization 捜査官／調査官s in Wuhan to have the same 力／強力にするs as UN-支援するd 武器s 視察官s.

He said there had been, 'an alarming 増加する in the number of 危険な 空中の 迎撃するs and 対決s at sea' by Chinese 計画（する）s and ships.

General Wei Fenghe 拒絶するd what he called a 'smearing 告訴，告発', though, and （刑事）被告 America and other 無名の countries of '干渉' in the South 中国 Sea and 'stirring up trouble'.

'Some 大国 has long practised 航海 hegemony on the pretext of freedom of 航海,' he told the Singapore 首脳会議.

'(The US) has flexed the muscles by sending 軍艦s and 軍用機s on a rampage in the South 中国 Sea,' he said.??

Mr Marles 表明するd alarm at 中国's 早い 軍の build-up in the area.

'Chinese militarisation of features in the South 中国 Sea needs to be understood for what it is: the 意図 to 否定する the legitimacy of its 隣人s' （人命などを）奪う，主張するs in this 決定的な international 水路 through 軍隊,' he said.

The South 中国 Sea, which has been a flashpoint of 論争 for several years, is one of the world's major shipping 大勝するs and is of 広大な／多数の／重要な 戦略の importance.

Speaking at the Shangri-La 首脳会議, General Wei Fenghe 再確認するd 中国's position that it 捜し出すs a '平和的な 再統一' with Taiwan, but 警告するd any 押し進める for Taiwanese independence would be squash ed.

'We will resolutely 鎮圧する any 試みる／企てる to 追求する Taiwan independence,' he said. 'We will fight at all costs. And we will fight to the very end.'

Mr Marles' 会合 with General Wei Fenghe could 可能にする その上の high-level 会談 with 中国, with 貿易（する） 許可／制裁s 存在 something Australia is very keen to discuss as soon as possible.

'In moving 今後, while there is a change in トン, there is 絶対 no change in the 実体 of Australia's 国家の 利益／興味,' Mr Marles said.
