Millions?of Britons 直面する an anxious wait to see if 明言する/公表する 年金s rise by インフレーション as 約束d ? or whether they will have to settle for a much smaller 増加する.
Earlier this month, when 首相, Liz Truss 約束d to keep the 明言する/公表する 年金 3倍になる lock.
This is a 誓約(する) to raise 支払い(額)s in line with the highest of either インフレーション, 普通の/平均(する) 収入s or 2.5 per cent.
It raised hope の中で pensioners that they would see a ten per cent rise next April. But her 後継者, Rishi Sunak, has not yet committed to honouring the 誓約(する).

Helen Morrissey, 上級の 年金s 分析家 at the online 投資 壇・綱領・公約 Hargreaves Lansdown, said: ‘Times have been 堅い for many pensioners as the 急に上がるing cost of living bit 負かす/撃墜する hard on their 財政/金融s.
‘They also had the 抱擁する 不確定 of whether the 3倍になる lock would return to give them a decent 増加する in their 明言する/公表する 年金 for next year.
‘However, there are other ways to try to make your money go a bit その上の in these trying times from extra 政府 help to 貯金 on travel and days out.’
To help pensioners to (警官の)巡回区域,受持ち区域 the squeeze, here is a 要約 of the help they can get:
年金 Credit
Only two-thirds of those 適格の (人命などを)奪う,主張する 年金 credit, which 最高の,を越すs up the income of the poorest pensioners to £182.60 per week for a 選び出す/独身 person and £278.70 for a couple.

You may also qualify for help with さまざまな NHS costs such as dental 治療, glasses and travel to hospital 任命s.
In 新規加入, 年金 credit claimants are する権利を与えるd to the Warm Home 割引, a £150 one-off 支払い(額) to your energy 供給者, which deducts that 量 from your 月毎の 法案s between November and March.
Extra help for heating??
Those born before September 25, 1956, should automatically receive a Winter 燃料 支払い(額) with their 明言する/公表する 年金.
普通は this is between £100 to £300 per pensioner, depending on their age and whether they cohabit. This year, 予定 to the cost-of-living crunch, a その上の £300 has been 追加するd.
There are other one-off cost of living-関係のある 支払い(額)s from the 政府.
Every energy 法案 payer gets £400 taken off 法案s automatically in six instalments.
Those in 領収書 of 年金 Credit are する権利を与えるd to a その上の £650 Cost of Living 支払い(額) to help cover 法案s 一般に. Half should have been paid into banks in July and the 残り/休憩(する) will come in November.

Travel: how to save on costs
You can get a 解放する/自由な bus pass if you are over 明言する/公表する 年金 age in England or over 60 in むちの跡s, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It isn’t given automatically, so you will need to 適用する.
Londoners can get 解放する/自由な travel on the city’s buses, Tubes, trains and trams from 60 with the 60+ London Oyster card. 最初 it costs £20. However, it can be 新たにするd 毎年 for £10.
From the age of 65 they can switch to the Freedom Pass, which covers the 輸送(する) for London 網状組織, 加える bus services across England.
For train travel the 上級の Railcard 申し込む/申し出s a third off rail tickets. A one-year card costs £30, while a three-year 見解/翻訳/版 申し込む/申し出s even better value at £70.

Health
In England, prescriptions are 解放する/自由な from the age of 60. This happens automatically and no 証明書 is necessary. They are 解放する/自由な for all ages in Scotland, むちの跡s and Northern Ireland. You can get 解放する/自由な 注目する,もくろむ 実験(する)s from the same age. You don’t have to say anything when you 調書をとる/予約する but you should bring proof of age to your 任命. Those on 年金 Credit can get 解放する/自由な spectacles, too.
For those who must buy glasses, Specsavers and Boots Opticians 申し込む/申し出 割引s on them for the over-60s. Specsavers, for instance, 申し込む/申し出s 25 per cent off all glasses over £69.
Get money off days out
If you're a 国家の 信用 member ? and have been for at least five of the past ten years ? you can get 上級の 会員の地位 at 25 per cent off.
一方/合間, 上級の 会員の地位 from English 遺産, 利用できる from the age of 65, costs £59 ? 負かす/撃墜する from £66.
Cinemas often 申し込む/申し出 割引s to older people. Odeon has 明確な/細部 審査s for 上級のs with £3.50 tickets and 解放する/自由な refreshments, while Showcase Cinemas 申し込む/申し出 £5 tickets for 上級のs e very Monday morning.
Theatres and art galleries will often also 申し込む/申し出 割引s to the over-60s so it’s 価値(がある) checking before a visit. Major football, rugby and cricket clubs 申し込む/申し出 上級の 割引s on season ticket and 会員の地位 prices.
Shopping and eating
Older people can also get 割引s in a 範囲 of shops and restaurants ? and it is 価値(がある) asking even if they’re not advertised.
The supermarket chain アイスランド 発表するd in May it was helping older people with the rising cost of living by 申し込む/申し出ing ten per cent off for over-60s every Tuesday with no 最小限 spend.
Boots has special 申し込む/申し出s on its Advantage Card for over-60s, with more points for each 続けざまに猛撃する spent in 蓄える/店, special 割引s, and special 申し込む/申し出s ? 含むing extra points if you have a 解放する/自由な 審理,公聴会 実験(する).
B&Q 申し込む/申し出s a 解放する/自由な B&Q Diamond Card for over-60s with ten per cent off selected 製品s on Wednesdays. The 割引 used to cover any 購入(する), but since 2018, it’s been 限られた/立憲的な to selected gardening and Christmas 製品s.
Dobbies Garden Centres 申し込む/申し出s a main course and a cake for £9.95 Monday to Friday for over-60s in its restaurants. Its mains alone 普通は cost over a tenner.
