Hanratty 犠牲者 is vindicated
The woman who was 強姦d, 発射 and left paralysed by A6 殺害者 James Hanratty has said she feels "vindicated" after his posthumous 有罪の判決 控訴,上告 was thrown out.
車椅子-bound Valerie Storie, now 63, last night said she never had any 疑問s about Hanratty's 犯罪 and 支援するd the 決定/判定勝ち(する) to hang him.
But she 辞退するd to criticise Hanratty's family, 説 no mother could 受託する her son was 有能な of 殺人.
Speaking of the moment she identified Hanratty, she said: "I looked into his 注目する,もくろむs, he looked into 地雷 and it was all over."
Hanratty 発射 and killed Michael Gregsten before turning to his mistress, 行方不明になる Storie on the evening of August 22 1961.

Speaking 堅固に and confidently, the silver-haired pensioner read a 声明 in 返答 to yesterday's judgment.
In the 声明 she said: "I wish to 明言する/公表する 前向きに/確かに and categorically that there was no miscarriage of 司法(官), there never was any such miscarriage of 司法(官).
"In the 早期に hours of the morning of Wednesday August 23 1961 at Deadman's Hill on the A6 James Hanratty 発射 Michael Gregsten twice in the 長,率いる at の近くに 範囲 原因(となる)ing him to die 即時に.
"After that he 強姦d and then 発射 me a number of times, pausing only once to reload his gun. From that moment I have been paralysed from just below the shoulders downwards. I was 22 years old."

But now the former civil servant said she was looking 今後 to の近くにing this 一時期/支部 of her life and getting on as normal.

持続するing her belief in 死刑, 行方不明になる Storie said that the fact that Hanratty was hanged meant she had been able at least to live her life without 恐れる.
"I have always been and always will be a 広大な/多数の/重要な 支持者 of 死刑," she 追加するd.
Of Hanratty, she said: "He committed a 罪,犯罪, he was 有罪の and he must hang therefore I have got no 恐れる of him.
"If he had not been hanged then his life 宣告,判決 would have finished and he would be out.
"I don't think I would have had a moment's peace - every knock at the door I would 恐れる he was there again."
述べるing how she had 対処するd over the last 40 years, she said: "I believe I have continued to live as normal a life as anyone has.
"The 影をつくる/尾行する of the 罪,犯罪, of course, is always there. With every 選び出す/独身 breath I have taken and every movement of my arm, I am 全く aware of what has happened."
On Hanratty's family and 支持者s, who have relentlessly (選挙などの)運動をするd on his に代わって, she said: "I have got no grievance with the Hanratty family. They did what felt they had to do.
"I have said countless times that no mother can かもしれない 受託する that her son has committed a 殺人 and every 殺害者 has got a mother."
行方不明になる Storie said she decided to speak out after the judgment in an 成果/努力 to stop マスコミ 侵入占拠 in her life and to put a stop to the 告訴,告発s against her.
She said: "This was the 権利 time, I was 存在 called a liar, no one would believe what I was 説."
Of the endless 調書をとる/予約するs, films and television programs "perpetuating the folklore" surrounding the 事例/患者, she said: "It was so difficult to get across to anybody what really happened, I was fighting a losing 戦う/戦い.
"I just had this 広大な/多数の/重要な belief that somewhere, somehow, I would be 証明するd to be 権利, and I think I have been vindicated."
行方不明になる Storie has always 持続するd that she was 絶対 sure when she identified Hanratty as the 殺し屋 from her hospital bed.
She 賞賛するd the police officers in the 初めの 調査 and also thanked her family, friends and 同僚s for their support without which, she said, her life would have been "intolerable".
She said: "I have never had any problem with the truth, I repeat that James Hanratty was 有罪の of the 罪,犯罪 for which he was hanged.
"I know that because I was there. Please God the judgment by the Lord 長,指導者 司法(官) sees not 単に the end of one more 一時期/支部 of the end of this 調書をとる/予約する that has been part of my life for so very many years.
"I would ask you now to 尊敬(する)・点 my wish to be left in peace."
行方不明になる Storie retired on 医療の grounds from her 職業 as a 政府 scientist in November 1983.
