Hundreds of 速度(を上げる) cameras to be scrapped

Hundreds of hidden 速度(を上げる) cameras are to be ripped out in a victory for 運転者s and fair play.

In 未来 they must be 任命する/導入するd only at 事故 blackspots, not where they can 罠(にかける) the most drivers.

Police will be banned from hiding them behind trees, hedges, lamp-地位,任命するs and road 調印するs. There must also be (疑いを)晴らす 前進する 警告, giving drivers time to slow 負かす/撃墜する.

The new 政府 指導基準s are a sharp change of 政策. It has been 誘発するd by 承認 that 不正に-場所/位置d or deliberately hidden 速度(を上げる) 罠(にかける)s are 土台を崩すing support for the 'cash for cameras' safety 計画/陰謀.

This lets police keep some of the 罰金s produced by 任命する/導入するing extra cameras, which are supposed to be painted yellow and 平易な to see.

But some police 軍隊s have failed to stick to the 支配するs, 誘発する/引き起こすing 開始するing fury の中で drivers who are 支払う/賃金ing £25million a year in スピード違反 罰金s - 二塁打 the level of five years ago.

Now police are to be told cameras must be 場所/位置d only at places where four people have been killed or 本気で 負傷させるd or there have been eight 'personal 傷害' 事故s in the previous three years.

Any of the 存在するing 5,000 cameras that do not 会合,会う the new 指導基準s must be uprooted within six months.

The AA said the 支配するs were an important victory for 運転者s who had (選挙などの)運動をするd for fair play.

広報担当者 Paul Watters said: 'We 推定する/予想する that hundreds of cameras may have to be 除去するd as a result and we certainly welcome it,

'It is a sensible move by the 政府 and will 確実にする 運転者s continue to 尊敬(する)・点 井戸/弁護士席-場所/位置d 速度(を上げる) cameras.'

for them which is certainly not good for road safety.'

Many drivers had complained that they were 存在 used as 'soft 的s' to raise 歳入 while muggers and 夜盗,押し込み強盗s appeared to run little 危険 of 存在 caught.

The new 支配するs, in a handbook 存在 問題/発行するd this week, say cameras must be 明確に 明白な from 60 metres away where the 速度(を上げる) 限界 is up to 40mph and from 100 metres どこかよそで.

There must be 警告 調印するs within 1km (0.6 miles) of the camera - and 調印するs must not be put up to fool drivers.

Each 場所/位置 must be reviewed every six months and cameras can be 保持するd where it is proven they have 削除するd 事故 率s.

But if other 対策 such as road humps helped 達成する the 削減, 当局 should 除去する the camera.

操作者s of 動きやすい cameras must wear fluorescent 着せる/賦与するing and use 示すd 乗り物s.

輸送(する) 大臣 John Spellar said yesterday: 'We want to 減ずる 事故s by 確実にするing appropriate 速度(を上げる)s - but we do not want to catch 運転者s.

'That is why we have 主張するd on (疑いを)晴らす visibility, so people know where the cameras are.'

Cameras must be painted yellow by a 最終期限 next month, although some police 長,指導者s believe they will not be able to 会合,会う it.

速度(を上げる) cameras are 現在/一般に the 責任/義務 of either the police or 地元の 当局, or, under the cash-for-cameras 計画/陰謀, a '共同' 含むing police, 地元の 当局, the Home Office and safety groups.

All will now have to check their camera 場所/位置s.
