DAILY MAIL COMMENT: A wise speech straight from the King’s heart
After seven 10年間s, the Queen’s 年次の Christmas Day message had become as synonymous with the festive season as turkey and mince pies.
As a nation, we turned on our televisions to hear that much-admired 君主’s invariably wise words of reflection, 激励 and inspiration.
So King Charles’s first Yuletide 演説(する)/住所 since his beloved mother’s death was 必然的に tinged with sadness. But 同時に, it was 深く,強烈に 安心させるing.
連続 lies at the heart of 君主国. No individual can be greater than the 会・原則. The baton, as the Queen said prophetically last year, passes. Even so, she was bound to be a hard 行為/法令/行動する to follow.
King Charles’s first Yuletide 演説(する)/住所 since his beloved mother’s death was 必然的に tinged with sadness
But the effortlessness with which Charles III has taken to the 王位 does him 広大な/多数の/重要な credit. He has been 模範的な in his public 義務s, compassionate and statesmanlike.
His profoundly personal speech yesterday paid moving 尊敬の印 to the Queen.
He spoke unashamedly of his 深い Christian 約束 ? but not to the 除外 of those who worship other 宗教s, or 非,不,無, 公式文書,認めるing that the 力/強力にする of ‘light 打ち勝つing 不明瞭’ was a 主題 of all creeds.
Charles also sympathised with families 直面するing ‘苦悩s and hardships’, whether from spiralling energy 法案s or 全世界の wars.
The King reminded us, too, of the ageless ideals we should 粘着する to, 含むing our 義務 to care for the 攻撃を受けやすい. But while times are 堅い, better days 嘘(をつく) ahead.
にもかかわらず いつかs appearing inescapably detached from real life, the 王室のs also 耐える family turbulence ? 証明するing they are as human as the 残り/休憩(する) of us.
They have not just had to 競う with the Queen’s death this year. The 砲撃 of brickbats from Harry and Meghan has been relentless, while Prince Andrew remains 苦境に陥るd in スキャンダル over his links to 罪人/有罪を宣告するd paedophiles.
Yet the delighted (人が)群がるs who 迎える/歓迎するd the 王室のs …に出席するing church at Sandringham 証明する that The 会社/堅い remains a 軍隊 to be reckoned with ? whatever they sullenly say in California or anywhere else.
Rail travel Lynched
How typical of the 交戦的な rail unions to use Christmas as just another 適切な時期 to (打撃,刑罰などを)与える 悲惨 upon the long-苦しむing travelling public.
Thanks to their greedy pig-headedness, trains have been shut 負かす/撃墜する for 60 hours.
This is the first festive season for two years not blighted by the pandemic. People have been longing to enjoy themselves.
Yet by striking from Christmas Eve until tomorrow, the RMT has callously consigned many, 含むing the 年輩の, to spend the holidays apart from their loved ones.
This mayhem is also 原因(となる)ing 抱擁する 損失 to 商売/仕事 ? 特に 歓待 at a make-or-break time of year ? putting 職業s in jeopardy. So much for RMT 長,指導者 Mick Lynch 存在 the 労働者s’ friend!
Their extravagant 支払う/賃金 需要・要求するs expose the unions as しっかり掴むing chancers who 持つ/拘留する the public in utter contempt.
As for 労働, not only does it depend on 寄付s from striking unions, we 明らかにする/漏らす today that the party’s MPs have taken £35,000 in gifts and 歓待 from them.
No wonder they 辞退する to 非難する such deplorable 行為/法令/行動するs of 産業の vandalism.
Cure this wokery
Mesmerised by the wokery that has lobotomised our public services, London’s 王室の 解放する/自由な Hospital is 軍隊ing interview パネル盤s to 正当化する 雇うing white people.
But if a successful 候補者 is from an 民族の 少数,小数派, this time-消費するing travesty of 官僚主義 is not 要求するd.
While proponents say it 改善するs 多様制, such 政治上 訂正する box-ticking 危険s 存在 意見の不一致を生じる and 差別的な.
Instead of virtue-signalling, shouldn’t hospitals 簡単に 雇う the best people ? irrespective of their race?
