Caroline Flint: Not read the EU 条約

The 政府 大臣 責任がある the 生き返らせるd EU 憲法 made an astonishing gaffe by admitting she had never read it.

Europe 大臣 Caroline Flint 認める she had only been '簡潔な/要約するd' on parts of a 文書 that 降伏するs a raft of British 力/強力にするs to Brussels.

労働 has 辞退するd to give British 投票者s a 国民投票 on the Lisbon 条約 on the grounds that it is '大幅に' different to the 捨てるd 憲法.

But during a ありふれたs 審議, Ms Flint 自白するd she had not read all of the despised 借り切る/憲章.

Critics said it was an '驚くべき/特命の/臨時の admission' to make.

示す Francois, the Tory Europe 広報担当者, said: ''It is not every day that someone will 収容する/認める they 港/避難所’t read the most important 文書 for their 職業.

'Her astonishing admission does leave some questions. How does she know if the 条約 is good for Britain if she hasn’t read it?

'If she had taken the time to read the whole 条約, as I have, she might then know it means a major 移転 of 力/強力にする from Britain to the EU.

'The 権利 thing to do would be to let the British people have the chance to read it and decide for themselves.'

Lorraine Mullally, director of the anti-EU think-戦車/タンク Open Europe, said: 'This is an unbelievable admission. It is 極端に worrying that the 大臣 責任がある 促進するing the 条約 in this country has no idea what it 現実に says.

'Perhaps this explains why she is against giving the British people the 投票(する) on it they were 約束d ? she 簡単に has no idea how im portant it is.'

She branded Ms Flint a 'hypocrite' for telling Irish 投票者s who threw out the 条約 that they had 'misunderstood' it, にもかかわらず never reading it herself.

Asked by MPs if she had read the elements of the 条約 that 関係のある to defence, Ms Flint replied: 'I have read some of it but not all of it.'

After an astonished 返答 from 政治家,政治屋s, she 追加するd: 'I have been 簡潔な/要約するd on some of it.'

The 政府 has 辞退するd to honour an 選挙 誓約(する) to 持つ/拘留する a 投票(する) by (人命などを)奪う,主張するing the 条約 - the biggest 移転 of 君主 力/強力にするs to Brussels - was different to the 憲法, 拒絶するd by French and Dutch 投票者s in 2005.

But their (人命などを)奪う,主張するs were blown out of the water by the 労働-支配するd European Scrutiny Select 委員会, which carried out a line-by-line 熟考する/考慮する of the 文書s.

Only four countries have not yet fully 批准するd the Lisbon 条約: the Czech 共和国, Ireland, Germany and Poland.

Britain rubber-stamped the 力/強力にする-得る,とらえる by a 投票(する) in 議会, にもかかわらず more than 90 per cent of people questioned wanting a 国民投票.

Ireland is 持つ/拘留するing a second 国民投票 in October after a 'no' 投票(する) last year.

The 未来 of the 議論の的になる 憲法 was thrown into その上の 疑問 に引き続いて the 崩壊(する) of the プロの/賛成の-Brussels Czech 政府.

It is almost 確かな to 延期する Czech 批准 of the 生き返らせるd Lisbon 条約, which can come into 軍隊 only after it has been 認可するd by all 27 Eu ropean Union member 明言する/公表するs.
