警告 as scammers use Turkish 地震 to 収穫 寄付s: Charitable 犠牲者s 誘惑するd in by 偽の 災害 pictures and AI 生成するd images... 含むing a firefighter with six fingers

Scammers are 偉業／利用するing the Turkey-Syria 地震 悲劇 to steal money from charitable social マスコミ 使用者s looking to 寄付する to its 犠牲者s, a 報告（する）／憶測 has 警告するd.

The 反対／詐欺-artists have been caught 地位，任命するing images and ビデオs of the 悲劇 - some of them 偽の - on 壇・綱領・公約s 含むing TikTok and Twitter, along with messages such as 'Pray for Turkey', 'Let's help Turkey' and '寄付する for 地震 犠牲者s'.

But while （人命などを）奪う，主張するing to be raising money for 生存者s of the 災害 - that has left more than 35,000 people dead and millions more without 避難所, food or water - the scammers are instead funnelling 寄付するd 基金s into their own accounts.

On TikTok Live, content creators can make money through 数字表示式の gifts sent to them over the 壇・綱領・公約, that is 特に popular の中で the younger 世代s.

This is one of the methods 暴露するd in 報告（する）／憶測s by Bleeping Computer (a news website with a 焦点（を合わせる） on cybersecurity) and the BBC, that is 存在 used by the scammers to rake in cash from 使用者s moved by the 悲劇.

This image has been used by scammers in 地位，任命するs requesting 寄付s に向かって the 犠牲者s of the Turkey-Syria 地震 災害, which has killed more than 35,000 people. The emotive image has been AI-生成するd, with the firefighter having six fingers on his 権利 手渡す

The 報告（する）／憶測s 最高潮の場面d examples of scams that reporters 設立する online. One account, which 報道によれば broadcast live for more than three hours, showed a pixelated 空中の 見解（をとる） of buildings destroyed in the 壊滅的な 地震.

The 報告（する）／憶測 said the image was …を伴ってd by the sounds of 爆発s. 'Let's hel p Turkey. 寄付,' the ビデオ's caption said. A purple thumb with a '寄付' label could be seen in a screenshot of the 地位，任命する, encouraging テレビ視聴者s to send money.

Another live-streamed ビデオ showed a picture of a child wearing a light blue hat and matching scarf, running away from an 爆発, the BBC said.

'Please help 達成する this goal' was the host's message, in a 嘆願 for TikTok gifts.

However, Google's 逆転する-image search 機能（する）／行事 - used by the BBC and recreated by MailOnline - finds that the picture was 以前 used in 2018, long before the 地震, with a different caption that says: 'Stop Afrin 集団殺戮.'

This is a 言及／関連 to a city in north-west Syria, which saw Turkish 軍隊s and their 同盟（する）s in the Syrian 対立 衝突／不一致 with a Kurdish 民兵 in 2018.

Scammers have also been using Twitter to 株 emotive messages along with links to?cryptocurrency asking for 寄付s from 使用者s.

The BBC said one account 地位，任命するd the same 控訴，上告 eight times in 12 hours, 株ing the same image of a firefighter 持つ／拘留するing a child surrounded by 崩壊（する）d buildings.?

Another live-streamed ビデオ showed a picture of a child wearing a light blue hat and matching scarf, running away from an 爆発 (pictured), the BBC said. The image, however, 起こる／始まるs from 2018 and is not of a child caught up in the on-going 地震 災害

However, in another 層 of deception, the image 株d was not real.?

によれば Greek newspaper?OEMA, it was 生成するd by?人工的な 知能 ソフトウェア Midjourney. In 新規加入 to other 調印するs that the image was not a real photograph, the firefighter was seen to have six fingers on his 権利 手渡す.

The BBC also said that the cryptocurrency wallet 演説（する）／住所 had been used in other scam tweets since 2018. A second 演説（する）／住所 in the same tweet had been 地位，任命するd on Russia's Facebook 同等（の） VK along with pornographic content.

The 報告（する）／憶測 said its authors had 接触するd the person behind the Twitter account, who 否定するd that they were a scammer.

The person told the BBC their 目的（とする） was to 'help people 影響する／感情d by the 地震'. The 放送者 said they had not sent 領収書s to 支援する up their （人命などを）奪う，主張する.

It also said it 設立する other examples on Twitter of people creating 偽の fundraising accounts and 地位，任命するing links to a PayPal fundraising page.

One example of such an account was 指名するd @TurkeyRelief. It joined the 壇・綱領・公約 in January and had 31 信奉者s, and touts 寄付s 経由で PayPal. The page had raised $900 of its $20,000 goal by the time it was 一時停止するd.

The Twitte r account was also 一時停止するd.?

The BBC said that it was one of more than 100 fundraisers 開始する，打ち上げるd on PayPal asking for 寄付s to the Turkey-Syria 地震 災害.?Bleeping Computer is said it 設立する pages that directed 寄付s to personal PayPal wallets.

The tech news 場所／位置 公式文書，認めるd that PayPal has not operated in Turkey since 2016, so Twitter accounts with usernames that sound 'Turkish' and （人命などを）奪う，主張する to be based in Turkey - while linking to a PayPal account - are likely untrustworthy.

Bleeping Computer also 報告（する）／憶測d 偽の charity and emails were 存在 sent by scammers. 類似の practices were seen to 偉業／利用する the war in ウクライナ共和国, it said.

PayPal told the BBC that while many accounts had 'the best 意向s,' it was 必然的な that some would 試みる／企てる to 偉業／利用する charitable people.

'PayPal teams are always working diligently to scrutinise and 禁止（する） accounts, 特に in the wake of events like the 地震 in Turkey and Syria, so that 寄付s go to ーするつもりであるd 原因（となる）s,' it told the 放送者 in a 声明.

TikTok said that it was 'saddened' by the 地震 and that it was 与える／捧げるing to 救済 成果／努力s. 'We're also 活発に working to 妨げる people from scamming and 誤って導くing community members who want to help,' the BBC 引用するd it as 説.

The Chinese 壇・綱領・公約 has been criticised in the past after 調査s 設立する that it takes 70 パーセント of 寄付s given through the app. The company says this is いっそう少なく.

Britain's charity （売買）手数料，委託（する）／委員会／権限 has 勧めるd the public to 'give 安全に' to support 援助（する） 成果／努力s in Turkey and Syria.

Helen Stephenson, 大統領 of the Charity （売買）手数料，委託（する）／委員会／権限, 賞賛するd people's generosity in 寄付するing に向かって 救済 基金s for the 生存者s of the 災害.

However, she also 警告するd that fraudsters and scammers would take the 適切な時期 to try and take advantage of good-natured people.?

'The 地震s in Turkey and Syria have had a 破滅的な 衝撃, and the daily news 報告（する）／憶測s and growing death （死傷者）数 make for 苦しめるing reading, but the 返答 from the public is testament to the incredible 親切 and generosity that 存在するs in Britain,' she said in a 声明 解放（する）d to MailOnline.

'Sadly, such events also 供給する 適切な時期 for fraudsters and scammers. As new avenues become 利用できる, 含むing popular social マスコミ 壇・綱領・公約s, scammers will find new ways to try and trick people into directing 基金s away from people in need.

'However, the public shouldn't let this stop them from 与える／捧げるing to help people 取引，協定ing with the shocking 衝撃s of the 最近の 地震s. Instead, we're reminding everyone to always follow our 重要な steps to 避ける scammers when 寄付するing, such as checking our online 登録（する）,' Ms?Stephenson said.

The charity （売買）手数料，委託（する）／委員会／権限 said there are five steps people can take to check that their 寄付s are going to a 本物の charitable 原因（となる）.

It advises people to check the Charity 登録（する）, 確実にする the charity is 本物の before sending 基金s, take care when 答える／応じるing to emails or clicking links, to do 研究 online about the charity before 寄付するing, and to look out for 調印するs of accreditation.

It also 勧めるs people to 接触する the police or to 活動／戦闘 詐欺 if they believe someone collecting charitable 寄付s is not 本物の.
