Stephen Pritchard, from Bath, was put behind 妨げる／法廷，弁護士業s today at Inner London 栄冠を与える 法廷，裁判所 after 存在 設立する 有罪の of 妨害するing the motorway on October 1, 2021.

The 63-year-old, along with former 保護監察 officer Ruth Cook, 71, gardener Roman Paluch-Machnik, 29, and carpenter Oliver 激しく揺する, 42, stopped traffic at Junction 3 of the motorway in Hounslow, West London.?

Pritchard, who is a Buddhist and a former parish 議員, had railed against 裁判官 Silas Reid in a previous 審理，公聴会 after the 被告s were ordered not to について言及する their 気候-関係のある 動機づけs to the 陪審／陪審員団 during their 裁判，公判.

His co-被告s were each given six-week 宣告，判決s 一時停止するd for 18 months on the proviso they do not 感情を害する／違反する again. The three were also ordered to serve 100 hours' community service.

The other three 被告s 以前 said they had been deterred from 未来 破壊的な 抗議する a ction by experiences in 法廷，裁判所 and 刑務所，拘置所.

裁判官 Reid told Pritchard: 'It is not appropriate for me to 一時停止する the 必然的な 宣告，判決... you will serve up to half of your 宣告，判決 in 刑務所，拘置所.'

Speaking to all four 被告s, he said: '非，不，無 of you have shown any 悔恨 for your 活動／戦闘s and in fact wear them with pride.'

'The method is to 混乱に陥れる／中断させる ordinary members of the public trying to get to school, trying to get to work, to hospital 任命s, caring 責任／義務s, or even just going on holiday trying to live their lives.

The 2021 抗議する saw some of the 被告s glue themselves to the tarmac on the M4 の近くに to Heathrow Airport in west London, 混乱に陥れる／中断させるing traffic flow in both directions for around two hours.

It was part of wave of 抗議するs by the 気候 group which 原因（となる）d 大混乱 on the roads of Britain as they called on the 政府 to 増加する 基金ing for insulation in homes across the country.

裁判官 Reid had 支配するd that they should not について言及する their 気候 動機づけs during their 裁判，公判, but asked them to 'concentrate as much as possible on 動機づけ' in their speeches ahead of 宣告，判決ing.

'People's lives are 存在 lost. The only possible way I could imagine stopping 平和的な civil 抵抗 in this 状況 is for you to tell me that this country has stopped pumping 温室 gases into the 空気／公表する.

'I'm 井戸／弁護士席 aware of what 刑務所，拘置所 is like, having been to 刑務所，拘置所. It's not a very nice place. But I feel like I'm already a 囚人 of my 良心.'

'I feel really angry,' he said. 'I think we are 長，率いるd to a very dark place. I don't think we are going to turn this ship around in time.

'I see the reactions from 政治家，政治屋s, and they don't know what to do and they just want everyone to be 静かな.

'I don't know what to do. I am desperate to change the 未来 we are 直面するing.'

Speaking about 裁判官 Reid's 課税 of 限界s to their defence, the grandmother from Frome, Somerset, gestured to the 陪審／陪審員団 （法廷の）裁判 and said: 'I'm really aware of those empty seats.

'I am going to say things now that I wish they would have been able to hear, so that they weren't discussing traffic data and listening to boring 統計（学） about traffic, but knew why we did what we did.'

Cook, who is also a Quaker, said her work 配達するing 援助（する） in Africa on に代わって of Oxfam and the 難民 会議 and seeing 気候 難民s in the continent 'changed me fundamentally'.

'I saw the 衝撃 that the 気候 緊急 was having on their lives,' she said.
